This week's Honest Trailer decides to poke fun at the most popular movie that has yet to be seen: the Snyder Cut of Justice League. Back in 2017, DC fans were eager to see the iconic superhero team come together on the big screen. With a cast made up of Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher, expectations were high. However, the final product led to disappointment, as Justice League suffered from a nonsensical plot, too much quippy humor, and one poorly-removed mustache. Justice League also struggled at the box office, grossing only $229 million domestically when expectations were much higher.

Fans soon found an explanation for why Justice League suffered: The film's original director Zack Snyder was forced to leave the project after a family tragedy, and Joss Whedon stepped in to complete it. However, Whedon added numerous rewrites and completely changed Snyder's original vision. Fans began calling for the release of the Snyder Cut, and Snyder himself, as well as several Justice League cast members, has since joined in with their campaign.

Now the popular series from Screen Junkies has created an Honest Trailer for the never-before-seen Snyder Cut in honor of April Fool's Day. The trailer pokes fun at the high expectations fans have for the Snyder Cut, joking that the film will become the "best movie ever made." You can watch it for yourself below:

Snyder famously had many plans for Justice League and subsequent sequels, but his departure from the project seemingly derailed all of them. The Snyder Cut is set to have more backstory for characters like Aquaman (Momoa), the Flash (Miller), and Cyborg (Fisher), while also including additional characters (like Iris West) who were removed entirely from Whedon's cut. The overall villain of the film was supposed to be Darkseid, operating from the shadows while Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) took center stage. That's only scraping the surface of the differences between Snyder's Justice League and Whedon's. Needless to say, the two are very, very different movies.

The Honest Trailer makes light of the entire situation by making fun of all the things that were cut from Justice League, from Wonder Woman's mustache to Jeremy Irons' Alfred reciting Atlas Shrugged for twenty minutes. At this point, it does feel like there is an infinite amount of things that were cut from the film, and it's hard to keep track of what exactly was supposed to happen in Snyder's cut. The Snyder Cut has become something of a legend among fans, and it's unclear if they'll ever actually get to see it. At least the Honest Trailer is here to make them laugh.
