Details about Darkseid's cut involvement from Justice League's history lesson are now revealed. Played by Ray Porter, the DC villain was entirely removed from the movie's 2017 iteration after Joss Whedon's extensive reshoots, who also assembled its theatrical version. With Zack Snyder getting the chance to finish his original plans for its narrative, more information regarding what fans can expect from the HBO Max project including new information about what Darkseid's part was going to be in the movie's massive fight sequence

Set to release sometime next year, the decision to release Snyder's version of Justice League was announced to the public late last month. The director himself shared the good news following a watch party for Man of Steel - his 2013 blockbuster movie that introduced Henry Cavill as the title character and kicked off the DCEU. Fans who had been pushing for the Snyder Cut are obviously thrilled, but others aren't too happy with Warner Bros. and HBO Max's decision - they argue that this sets a bad precedent, proving that studios will cave on public pressure regardless of the people's means of making their voices heard. In any case, Snyder's Justice League is happening with additional details regarding it making their way online to further hype up fans.

A Twitter user with the handle Unity_514 translated the script from the mural from the Shrine of the Amazons, depicting what happened during the massive battle that Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) told Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) about Steppenwolf's (Ciaran Hinds) first invasion in Justice League. The fan's work gives the public a rundown of what Darkseid's role in the History Lesson sequence was going to be. Read it below:

Justice League Snyder Cut Darkseid Battle History Lesson tweet

This checks out with what Screen Rant reported in 2018, revealing that the said flashback scene was going to feature a battle between Darkseid and Ares. Backing the previous report, the inscription translation reveals that Zeus commands his son to go after Ares. In the end, the villain survived but is injured severely, forcing him and his forces to retreat, leaving the three Mother Boxes - each is given to the Humans, Atlanteans, and Amazonians to keep as a precautionary measure in case Darkseid ever tries to swipe them again. In the theatrical version of Justice League, Steppenwolf leads the invasion in the movie, which makes sense considering that he's presented as the primary villain of the story. However, as fans of the Snyder Cut knows, he's a mere stepping stone to the eventual introduction of Darkseid.

Snyder has been hyping fans up with the upcoming debut of Darkseid in his Justice League. Shortly after the project announcement, he revealed the first official look to the villain, followed by a clip of Diana discovering the aforementioned mural that depicts the History Lesson flashback. It's a clever way to focus the marketing of the HBO Max project on the villain as it allows them to easily differentiate it from its 2017 theatrical version. Perhaps both Porter and Snyder can reveal more about Darkseid's role next month as they attend the virtual fan convention dubbed Justice Con.
