Zack Snyder’s Justice League has become a classic old school comic book in a brand new piece of DC fan art. Ever since the theatrical version of Justice League released in theaters and fans witnessed an odd mixture of Joss Whedon’s more light-hearted style and some of Snyder’s original vision, there has been a growing curiosity about what Snyder’s original version looked like. As time went on, fans became aware of scenes that were cut from the theatrical version, such as the fight between the Atlanteans and Parademons, and there was a strong Snyder Cut movement. Fans and cast members finally got their wish earlier this year when Snyder revealed that his version of the film would release on HBO Max in 2021.

Fans found out that Snyder’s original vision for Justice League will unfold as a four-part TV show on HBO Max, and in addition to this, a spectacular looking trailer for Snyder’s Justice League released during DC FanDome. The tone and color scheme immediately stood out as being different from the theatrical version. Also, other reveals like Superman’s black suit and how Snyder’s Justice League will pay off Batman’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice arc has left many fans, particularly those that supported this movement from the beginning, excited. Another way the buzz and excitement continues for this project is through new pieces of fan art.

Recently, Whynotstuff.wns posted a brand a new piece of art, showing Snyder’s Justice League as a throwback comic book cover. As well as the old school design, the Zack Snyder’s Justice League comic has all the superheroes stood together, along with other signature characters like Lois Lane and Cyborg’s father Silas Stone, as they prepare themselves to battle an enemy standing in front of them. Of course, honoring Snyder’s version of the film, we see also see Superman in his black suit, “Hallelujah,” the song in the new trailer written on the cover, and a tagline, which reads: “THE LONG-AWAITED TEAM-UP THAT FANS RIGHTLY DESERVE!” The full post can be seen below:

The comic book cover is brilliantly put together. It’s a feeling of nostalgia for some, and it does a nice job incorporating details like Superman’s black suit or a subtler mention of “Hallelujah” to clearly distinguish it from the theatrical version of the film. Of course, it also does a good job of hyping what now almost feels like a major event that is looming: the release of the long-awaited Snyder Cut. The continued support for Snyder’s upcoming project has not only brought together fans and seen the creation of fantastic artwork, it has also led to fans raising over $250, 000 for the AFSP.

It will be interesting to see what the final product will look like when Snyder’s Justice League finally hits HBO Max, especially now that the project will reportedly have reshoots with some of the main cast this month. Whether or not the film (or TV show) will be good remains to be seen, but it will surely give a lot of fans closure as it will allow Snyder to wrap up his initial vision for the story. As fans continue to wait for 2021 so they can finally see Snyder’s Justice League, surely more artwork like this comic book cover will be released to keep the excitement level up.
