Zack Snyder is set to film Justice League Snyder Cut reshoots, which will bring back Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and more stars for new scenes. The journey to get the Justice League Snyder Cut released has been one of the biggest stories in Hollywood over the last three years. The interest in seeing what Snyder intended the movie to be was finally recognized earlier this year when the director - who left Justice League in 2017 after the death of his daughter - confirmed the Snyder Cut will be finished and released on HBO Max.

Upon the announcement of the Snyder Cut coming to WarnerMedia's new streaming service in 2021, one of the biggest questions was if Snyder would get to film more scenesJustice League went through extensive reshoots directed by Joss Whedon to change Snyder's vision, and he's let it be known that there were scenes he still wanted to film. It was stated at the start that Snyder likely would not get the chance to film more scenes to complete Justice League, but that has now changed in a big way.

According to THR, Snyder is planning to shoot new scenes for Justice League starting next month to bring back some of the film's biggest stars. It is expected that Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, and Ray Fisher will return - as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg, respectively - to complete extra work for the HBO Max limited series. The additional filming will reportedly take place over a week or so.

Ben Affleck as Batman in Justice League Snyder Cut Trailer

The return of some of Justice League's biggest stars for more filming is noteworthy on several levels. Ben Affleck had walked away from playing Batman, but now he'll return to the role briefly before playing the Dark Knight again in The Flash. Henry Cavill, meanwhile, seems to have no certain future as Superman. This will at least guarantee he'll play Superman again without the need to digitally remove his mustache. The most notable return, though, is Ray Fisher. He's in the middle of a tense battle with WarnerMedia over the original Justice League reshoots, but it shouldn't be too big of a surprise that he'd return to help complete Snyder's vision.

Now that it is confirmed that new scenes of Justice League will be filmed, it could even allow Snyder to film scenes that weren't going to make it into the movie initially. He'll now have the opportunity to include the Martian Manhunter transformation scene and several other ideas, possibly even his original ending for the film depending on the scope of these reshoots. One week of filming might not sound like that much time, but for someone as detailed and prepared as Snyder, there's a reasonable chance he will do a lot for Justice League in such a short amount of time. That said, the reshoots could be as simple as filming alternate versions of scenes to use as cliffhangers for each episode.
