Even though Superman is one of the most important superheroes of all time, he didn't get as much space in the DCEU as he would have deserved. Superman's solo film, Man of Steel (2013), did kickstart the DCEU, but from there on, Superman's story went downhill. He fought Batman, died, and came back to life in Justice League (2017), but barely appeared in the movie.

Fortunately, thanks to the upcoming Snyder Cut, it looks like Henry Cavill's Superman is going to get a second chance. There are some things about Superman the Snyder Cut should definitely change, but also some that were alright in the older version of the Justice League.

Should Change: Superman's CGI Lip

Justice League movie Superman CGI lips

It's an old story now but fans still like to point it out, and for a good reason. Since Henry Cavill couldn't shave his mustache he grew for the role in the Mission Impossible franchise, Superman got a CGI lip. And it looked absolutely awful in most of the scenes. It drew the attention away from Cavill's otherwise solid performance. The Snyder Cut could fix it by filming additional scenes with Cavill.

Shouldn't Change: Superman Confronts Batman

Batman vs Superman

After everything he's been through because of Batman, it made sense for Superman to confront him in the DCEU. Superman was confused at the time since their meeting happened shortly after his resurrection.

Even so, he recognized Batman for the man who hurt him, and he remembered enough to throw Batman's previous line at him when he asked him if he bled. It was a nice nod to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), one that the Snyder Cut could keep in.

Should Change: Superman And Wonder Woman Should Have More Screen Time Together

Wonder Woman Superman

Even though they are the best of friends in the comics, Wonder Woman and Superman barely spent any time together in the DCEU. They don't really know one another yet they are expected to rely on the other person.

It would be a good idea to give them some scenes together, ideally, those where they are not busy beating each other. They even dated in the comics for a while and they could definitely work as friends in the DCEU.

Shouldn't Change: Superman's Bond With Lois And Martha

Lois Lane Kiss Superman

One of the more touching moments in Justice League happens when Superman reunites with his loved ones. He first meets with Lois Lane, who helps him snap out of his confusion.

A while later, Clark goes to see his mom Martha, who's understandably happy that her son isn't dead after all. These are small moments but they make the sometimes larger-than-life superhero more human.

Should Change: Bring Superman In Earlier

Superman dies in Batman v Superman

The newly-formed Justice League spends a better part of the film proving what the audience already knows - that Superman isn't dead, not entirely, and they can bring him back.

Since Batman v Superman already more than hinted at this fact, the Snyder Cut could very well bring Superman back much sooner and give the team more time to get to know each other and work out a way how to defeat their enemies instead.

Shouldn't Change: Superman Races The Flash

Flash and Superman racing in Justice League.

Justice League is mostly a dark, serious film, with an occasional lighter situation. One such moment happens in the film's finale when Superman and the Flash decide to race and find out who's faster.

It's a nice nod to the comics, and comic books fans appreciated that the scene made it into the film. Even though it didn't quite correspond with Justice League's overall tone of storytelling, it did provide some much-needed comedy relief.

Should Change: What About Clark Kent?

Clark Kent At Desk at Daily Planet

Before he became Superman, Clark Kent was just Clark Kent. However, not all Superman films or those featuring him reflect that.

Even after Superman comes back to life, Justice League doesn't take the time to show how he managed to integrate back into his normal life, especially in regards to his job.

Shouldn't Change: Other Superheroes Respect Him

Superman Wonder Woman Justice League

The Justice League might not have worked together before in this film but that doesn't mean they don't know each other. They are at least aware of what the other superheroes can do, even when they don't yet know what they are like as people.

It's obvious from their behavior that the Justice League members respect Superman, and considering his significance in the comics, it's only natural they should respect him in the film as well.

Should Change: Superman Gets To Know The League Better

Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and the Flash in Justice League

Justice League is one of the shortest superhero films since its length is only 120 minutes. The film tried to push a lot of things into these two hours, but it didn't always succeed. For example, Superman barely has the time to realize who all the other members of the Justice League are before he flies onto the scene and helps save the day. That forms a direct contrast to Marvel movies that took the time to establish relationships and banter between its characters before the heroes faced their enemies together.

Shouldn't Change: Superman's Battle With Steppenwolf

Justice League Steppenwolf

Despite all the mistakes and errors that Justice League has done, it was still good to see the heroes bring Steppenwolf down. And Superman played a big part in that. The final fight between them was full of (sometimes too obvious) CGI but it was still impressive if the audience hasn't seen it before. No matter what some people might think about Superman, he is a badass, and it was a nice moment to see him take down Steppenwolf.
