#RestoreTheSnyderVerse trends ahead of the start of DC FanDome. The hashtag represents the movement of fans who want to see more from the planned vision from director Zack Snyder in the DCEU, specifically for Zack Snyder's Justice League. Snyder was originally hired to make three Justice League films, which was later pared down to one film before the director left the project altogether due to a family tragedy. He was later hired back to complete his vision for Justice League, which had been mostly reshot and reconfigured by director Joss Whedon, leading to a heavily compromised film that flopped at the box office.

Zack Snyder's Justice League ended up being a six-chapter, four-hour epic that debuted on HBO Max, which was later called a "global phenomenon" and continues to be a part of DCEU conversation. Snyder made his entry into the DCEU with 2013's Man of Steel, then followed it up with 2016's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which not only introduced Wonder Woman to the universe, but laid the groundwork for the director's planned Justice League trilogy.

Ahead of the start of DC FanDome today, the hashtag #RestoreTheSnyderVerse resurfaced and trended on Twitter, once again showing the strong interest and influence of Snyder's DCEU work. The desire to see Snyder's vision continue beyond his cut of Justice League has continued to gain steam since the film was released in all its glory on HBO Max. With such a massive amount of story prep work done for Snyder's Justice League trilogy, as well as the cliffhanger ending of the first film, there's plenty out there to keep fan interest at an all-time high. Take a look at some of the responses and posts below:

Snyder has moved on from the DCEU, signing a deal with Netflix to develop spinoffs of his Army of the Dead franchise, as well as the sci-fi action film, Rebel Moon, an idea the director originally had for a Star Wars film. It's unlikely Snyder would return to the "Snyderverse" anytime soon, as he's said that WB has been "aggressively anti-Snyder" since he came aboard to finish his cut of Justice League. Aside from the "Snyderverse" fans have also been calling for the release of David Ayer's cut of Suicide Squad, aptly called "The Ayer Cut," which is the director's darker, grittier version of the 2016 film.

However, fan campaigns most definitely helped make Zack Snyder's Justice League happen, so it's not at all unbelievable that it could help bring him back to the DCEU. With the multiverse opening things up to the point that the films of the DCEU no longer have to connect in every way, Snyder fulfilling his vision for Justice League and the Snyderverse seems entirely possible. The other aspect that opens up the possibilities for this happening is to debut the continued films on HBO Max, as the streamer continues to greenlight multiple superhero films strictly for the platform. While Snyder would likely want full autonomy in making the continued films, that shouldn't be a difficult compromise now that streaming/theatrical and even universe-beholden content is far more open.
