Fans of Zack Snyder's Justice League have taken to social media to demand Warner Bros. restore the Snyderverse on the film's one-year anniversary. March 18, 2021, saw the long-awaited release of Zack Snyder's Justice League, a moment many thought would never come. While the film was given a big HBO Max release, including a pre-show with filmmaker Kevin Smith, and was warmly received by critics and audiences, it was less the restart of the franchise and more a chance of finality for everyone involved.

Before the release of the film on HBO Max, Warner Bros. CEO Ann Sarnoff said that the studio would not make sequels to Zack Snyder's Justice League and was more about finishing up Snyder's trilogy that was started with Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Since the release of the film on HBO Max, the Release The Snyder Cut movement evolved into the Restore The SnyderVerse movement, an insistence from fans for Warner Bros. to bring back Snyder to helm the Justice League follow-ups he had planned, as well as bring Ben Affleck back as Batman, despite the actor appearing to be done with the role. Now, on the anniversary of the film's release, and following actor Wayne Carr showing what the deleted scene featuring his John Stewart Green Lantern would have looked like in the film, many fans of the film have taken to social media to try and make more Snyder movies happen.

On Twitter, the hashtag #RestoreTheSnyderVerse has been trending and features many celebrating the one-year anniversary of the release of Zack Snyder's Justice League. Many are demanding Warner Bros. restore the SnyderVerse, with the indication being they want Snyder to continue the story details he had planned for the follow-up films and to be able to incorporate Martian Manhunter and Green Lantern into the main team. A common note among many is citing how they made what seemed impossible happen before by getting Zack Snyder's Justice League released in the first place, so they don't think this should be impossible. Here is a small sampling of tweets below:

It took four years for the Release The Snyder Cut campaign to come true, so while it seems like a similar campaign could work again, there are many factors working against it. One is a matter of money, as releasing a new cut of a film that was already filmed is less expensive than mounting a whole new production, which could lead to over $200 million dollars. The other is fact is that Snyder has now moved on to Netflix, which has given him more creative control, while Warner Bros. has moved on in a new direction with the DCEU highlighting a wide variety of filmmakers and new characters. Finally, there is the feud between President of DC Films, Walter Hamada, and actor Ray Fisher regarding the abusive conditions on the reshoots of Justice League, with Fisher refusing to work for Warner Bros. as long as Hamada and writer Geoff Johns remain involved with the film productions.

While Warner Bros. is not exactly following through on sequels to Zack Snyder's Justice League, the spirit of Snyder still lives on in the DCEU, and that is cause for celebration. Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, and Ezra Miller were cast by Snyder and are leading their own film franchises, with Momoa and Miller even showing up in the season finale of Peacemaker, showing that his incarnation of the Justice League is still active in the DCEU. What the future holds for these characters remains uncertain, but much like the comics, it is more than one artist that shapes the universe.
