Ray Porter, who will play Darkseid in the upcoming Snyder Cut of Justice League, thinks the released clip and still from the movie are better than Joss Whedon's entire theatrical version. Though the film still credits Zack Snyder as director, the released cut of Justice League differs drastically from his original vision for the film. This is due to the director exiting the project early due to a family tragedy, leading Whedon to complete reshoots. The resulting film was both a critical and commercial disappointment, and select DC Extended Universe fans began calls to "Release the Snyder Cut." The movement gained steam for some time, before Snyder finally announced his version of the film will be released on HBO Max next year.

For the past several months, Snyder has taken to social media to share teases about the movie's plot and other elements. However, since the Snyder Cut announcement in May, even more information has been made available. In June, Snyder shared the first official clip, which features Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman finding a painting of Darkseid. Then, at last month's Justice Con, the director debuted a brief video of Superman (Henry Cavill) wearing his infamous black suit. As far as images go, just this weekend, Snyder revealed a low-res version of a new Steppenwolf image, suggesting a scarier look for the character.

Soon after the Steppenwolf photo was released, Porter shared his thoughts on it and the previously released clip, comparing it to Whedon's entire version of the movie. Check out his thoughts below:

It's clear from his comments Porter isn't mincing words. His is a bold claim that should make audiences even more excited about the Justice League Snyder Cut. However, despite Porter's confident tone, his thoughts aren't too surprising. His part was completely eliminated from the theatrical version of the movie, so he has a vested interest in the Snyder Cut. Prior to the announcement of its release, Snyder confirmed Porter finished his voice and motion capture work for Justice League, which will finally be seen now.

It will be interesting to see how many official videos and images are released before the Snyder Cut of Justice League debuts next year. Since audiences already know quite a bit about the plot of the film thanks to Snyder, it may make sense for HBO Max to hold off a bit on releasing more footage and stills from the movie. However, it's already been confirmed a teaser trailer for the Justice League Snyder Cut will drop during DC FanDome later this month. Those who watch will have to wait and see if Porter has a reaction to it, though, considering this weekend's tweet, it's likely to be a positive one.
