Based on a new rumor, Warner Bros. may have two post-credits scenes attached to the end of Justice League. The DC Extended Universe is finally starting to take shape and has been the recipient of a flood of positivity in the wake of Wonder Woman's summer dominance. With audiences ready to see more of Gal Gadot as Diana Prince, the wait for her return is not too much longer. She'll be featured in a leading role alongside Ben Affleck's Batman in Justice League come November, which also features Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and a resurrected Superman (Henry Cavill).

Even though we know who will star and what villain they'll ultimately face - that being Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds) - there is still plenty that is a mystery. While the trailers paint one particular picture, speculation continues to run wild as to how much of Justice League was changed by reshoots with Joss Whedon on board as the director. Everyone ultimately will have to wait and see the movie themselves to figure it out, and when they do, they may want to sit through the credits.

The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez stated in a recent Periscope session that Justice League is scheduled to have two post-credits scenes. While no details were obviously given for the sake of not spoiling whatever surprises are in store, Gonzalez teases that there may be hints out there already as to what one of them may be. However, this is not confirmed yet and things are still subject to change, so Justice League could come out and only have one or eliminate both. For the time being, take it with a grain of salt, even though the inclusion of post-credits scenes makes sense.

The Justice League seeing Superman return

Warner Bros. has previously steered clear of including post-credits scenes. Some have viewed it as a way to further differentiate the DCEU from the MCU, but they have so far only used them when they have one of significance. Suicide Squad is the only film to have a mid-credits scene that set up Bruce Wayne's search for team members, while WB released a bonus scene from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice featuring Lex Luthor learning about Steppenwolf and the Mother Boxes.

However, it makes plenty of sense why Justice League would be the movie that utilizes post-credits scenes the most. Not only could the first Aquaman trailer be shown right before the film start, but a post-credits scene further teasing his future or that of any other member of the Justice League would be a smart move. Those do only work if they know where each character and the universe is definitively going, so anything with Batman or Cyborg may be off the table. However, teasing the story for Wonder Woman 2, a villain for Flashpoint, or the Green Lanterns would give fans even more talking points as they leave.

One post-credits scene that may not be included could be the introduction of Darkseid, however. Even though he was previously reported to be part of the film in some capacity, the cliffhanger ending that set him up is no longer said to be in place. Not only could the story change make such a tease less likely, but such an ending to Justice League would draw heavy comparisons to The Avengers and its tease of Thanos. Whedon has done that before and probably won't do it again. That said, there's really no telling what these scenes could feature, so speculate away in the comments.
