Warning! Spoilers for Dark Crisis #0 by DC Comics

A new Justice League is about to rise out of the ashes of the tragic death of the original team. In Dark Crisis #0 by DC Comics, several new members of the next iteration of the Justice League are teased, as a handful of faces are shown as potential recruits to replace the likes of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. While the new team isn't confirmed, the reveal gives readers a look at the heroes who could make up the next generation of the Justice League.

The Death of the Justice League ended up being one of the most catastrophic and deadly events in DC Comics history. Pariah and the Great Darkness proved to be too much for even the greatest heroes on Earth, as Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, were all among those killed in the epic battle to save the Omniverse and beyond. In their absence, The Flash is left to try to build the Justice League from the ground up, as a new story teasing the future of the team shows who might replace the iconic heroes on the team - and some surprise faces make the cut.

A world without the Justice League is revealed in the recent Free Comic Book Day preview for Dark Crisis #0 by Joshua Williamson, Jim Cheung, Jay David Ramos, and Tom Napolitano from DC Comics. The Flash battles Clayface at the Hall of Justice while a young group of kids is given a tour. As The Flash saves the day, a young kid asks the hero whether there will ever be another Justice League. Wally West responds, "it's not really a question of if we will have a new Justice League... or when.. the real question is who?" as a bevy of potential members can be seen.

Dark Crisis Justice League Deaths

The potential recruits should have DC Comics readers excited about the next iteration of the Justice League team. The heroes shown include Blue Beetle, Yara Flor, Aquaman, Beast Boy, Raven, Nightwing, Gold Beetle, Donna Troy, Gold Lantern, Batman, Star Sapphire, Booster Gold, Superman, Cyborg, and Starfire - all of whom would be welcome members to a new version of the Justice League.

DC Comics has already offered serious hints at what the new Justice League team will look like, but with the splash page of heroes, they show there are several worthy potential members, even if they don't all end up making the team. What seems certain is the next version of the Justice League will be radically different from the main roster - which should inject some fresh blood into the team before the original members inevitably come back. A new Justice League is teased in Dark Crisis #0 from DC Comics, which is out now.
