Spoilers ahead for Justice League Infinity #3!

The Justice League have an awesome new ship that can traverse the multiverse. In Justice League Infinity #3, on sale now in print and digital, the Justice League is faced with a crisis in the multiverse. The League needs a way to easily, and safely, travel to parallel worlds—enter the Infinity-1 Javelin.

Justice League Infinity continues the story of Justice League Unlimited and the DC Animated Universe. The League is faced with excursions from the multiverse: a Nazi Superman comes to the League's world to conquer it, and Superman is sent to his world in return—where some of his worst foes, including General Zod and Doomsday, are freedom fighters. Whatever is causing the barriers between worlds to break down is unknown, but the League must act quickly before the entire multiverse is doomed. But traveling the multiverse is not an easy feat—generating the energy to do so is difficult, and sometimes traveling between realities can seriously hurt someone, or even kill them. It is a dire situation—but the League is ready with a fantastic new ship that can safely navigate the worlds of the multiverse. Justice League Infinity #3 is written by JM Dematteis and James Tucker, with art by Ethan Beavers, colors by Nick Filardi and letters by Tom Napolitano.

As the crisis rages across the multiverse, the League is gathered at the Watchtower to interrogate the Nazi Superman. He manages to momentarily escape the League but is soon overpowered by the Martian Manhunter.  The Manhunter has also discovered a telepathic signal emanating from a mysterious vortex above Metropolis. After Wonder Woman is whisked away to parts unknown, the League doubles down on its efforts to end the crisis. Hawkwoman takes the League to a special hangar, where they learn that the Atom and Mister Terrific have been working together on a ship that can travel to alternate Earths—the Infinity-1 Javelin. The Martian Manhunter plugs himself into the Javelin’s AI, and the League is off to save the multiverse.

The Infinity Javelin

The Javelins were one of the League’s primary modes of transportation in Justice League Unlimited, capable of traveling in deep space; these new ones can go anywhere in the multiverse. As noted earlier, DC has recently revealed that traveling through the multiverse can pose serious risks—a lesson the Suicide Squad has recently learned the hard way in their title. At times, it seems as if only the Flash is able to travel between worlds with no ill effects, and the Infinity-1 levels the playing field.

The Justice League has improved on the Javelin designs, creating a fantastic new ship that can travel the multiverse with speed and efficiency—and may be existence’s last hope.
