2017 will be the year of Wonder Woman for the DC Extended Universe. Gal Gadot will be reprising her role as the Amazonian warrior in both her own stand-alone film (Wonder Woman, coming to theaters in June) and in the highly anticipated team up movie Justice League (coming to theaters in November 2017). Wonder Woman has also just been announced as an UN Ambassador for Gender Equality, as well, making her one of the most talked-about heroes of the big screen right now. With Justice League currently in development, we are being treated to various behind-the-scenes clips and images from the film, all of which are getting fans excited to see this iconic team brought together on the big screen.

In addition, it's Wonder Woman's 75th anniversary, and Justice League director Zack Snyder was sure to mark this huge milestone for the first lady of DC Comics - with a new look at Gal Gadot's take on the character.

Snyder (who also directed Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and who will be producing The Flash, Wonder Woman and Aquaman) posted a brand new image of Gal Gadot in costume with the caption "#JusticeLeague #WonderWoman75". The image shows Gadot in her Amazonian battle armor, in front of something on fire, and is from the set of the Justice League movie. No other characters or identifying objects are in the image, with the focus purely on Wonder Woman.

This image (see below) isn't our first look at Wonder Woman in her armor, as we already got to see her in action in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and we've seen multiple other stills and clips from her upcoming solo film. Because of this, the image doesn't provide us with much in the way of new information - especially as there is nothing else in the photo that could give us a hint at what is going on here. Clearly Wonder Woman is in the middle of some kind of battle or action scene, and looks either concerned or upset, but that's all we can tell for now.

Justice League (2017) - Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman

Despite not revealing any new information, this is still an absolutely gorgeous shot - and a great way to mark the character's 75th anniversary. The close-up look at Wonder Woman's tiara is fantastic, and the detailing on the costume (including the tiara and armbands) is absolutely stunning. It's also really nice to see what looks like a little bit more color in her costume! The light hitting one side reveals more of the red, blue and gold that fans have been clamoring to see, rather than the much more muted copper tones that we saw in Batman V Superman. We can also see her lasso of truth at her hip, which was a fan-favorite element of her first appearance. Fans can also do a little speculation around this image - could she be walking into a battle, or looking around at the end of one? (She's clearly not mid-fight, as her sword isn't in her hand.) Why does she look so concerned? Could this bode ill for one of the other Justice League members?

These questions will remain unanswered for now, and we'll have to wait until this time next year to learn exactly what Wonder Woman is up to in this fiery Justice League scene. While some naysayers are still not convinced that Gadot is the best choice for the character, or that her costume isn't quite colorful enough, hopefully this photo (and more like it) will go a long way to mitigating those fears. We're certainly excited to see Gadot back in action.
