The Snyder Cut of the Justice League will not have a post-credits scene, according to director Zack Snyder. Zack Snyder’s Justice League is one of the most anticipated films of the year, as it has had an almost three-year build-up, thanks to the Snyder Cut campaign that began not long after the heavily altered theatrical release of Justice League in 2017. The four-hour version, which was previously announced as a four-part miniseries but Snyder more recently called a “one shot” film, will hit the HBO Max streaming service in March, and DC fans are looking forward to finally seeing what the director had in store for them all along.

One of the big reasons there has been such a push from the fans for Snyder’s original version of the film is due to the fact that much of his original vision was cut when it hit theaters in 2017. The most recent trailer for Snyder’s Justice League has already highlighted various elements that were not a part of the theatrical cut, such as Darkseid and Superman’s black suit. However, one of the talking points surrounding the HBO Max film was its post-credits scene, which has become somewhat of a staple for comic book films. In October, Joe Manganiello, who plays Deathstroke, confirmed his original end credit scene that fans did not see in the 2017 film will be a part of the Snyder Cut. But according to the director, the four-hour Justice League film will have no post-credits scene.

On Snyder's VERO (via ComicBook), he responded to various fan queries regarding the upcoming Justice League film, and while doing so, replied to one fan who asked if Snyder’s Justice League will have a post-credits scene. In response, the director would simply write “no.” Seemingly confirming that as of this time, there is nothing to look ahead to beyond the upcoming Justice League for Snyder in the DCEU.

Deathstroke in Justice League

When thinking about Manganiello’s statement that his original post-credit scene will be restored, some fans might be confused why Snyder has stated that his film has no-post credits scene. However, considering this is, in fact, an old film that followed Snyder’s original five-film arc that was later scrapped, it makes sense why there is no post-credits scene. Also, it’s possible the original Deathstroke scene has now found itself within the film, pre-credits. Snyder recently said in an interview that he currently has no plans to continue in the DCEU post-Justice League and highlighted the fact that he “never thought” he’d be in the position to even finish his original superhero ensemble film. So for that reason, Snyder perhaps sees no reason for a post-credits scene.

In December, it was reported that studio executives at DC see Snyder’s Justice League as a “storytelling cul-de-sac” and that Snyder is not part of the DCEU plans moving forward. There have been rumblings of fans even pushing for Warner Bros. to allow Snyder to complete his original vision for the DECU, as #RestoreTheSnyderVerse was trending back in December. As of this writing, there appear to be no plans for Snyder moving forward. So while the idea of no post-credit scenes likely stings for some fans, it’s perhaps best not to create any unnecessary expectations if Snyder’s Justice League is the director’s last stand in the DCEU.
