New concept artwork for Batman's and Superman's suits for Justice League Mortal is revealed. Set to be directed by George Miller, the film boasted a long line-up of actors playing some of the most iconic DC superheroes such as Armie Hammer as Batman, D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Adam Brody as The Flash, Common as Green Lantern, Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman and Hugh Keays-Byrne as the Martian Manhunter among others. Unfortunately, the movie was canceled due to budgetary reasons before principal photography even started.

Miller's take on DC's premier group of heroes is slightly more complex than what DCEU's Justice League currently has. Instead of an origins story for the League, the canned film was meant to be an adaptation of Mark Waid’s Tower of Babel and based on the Justice League: Unlimited animated series. Concept artwork for Justice League Mortal featuring Batman's fake funeral surfaced last month, and additional details about the project have started to emerge.

Courtesy of DC Films Hub, who posted the artworks on its official Twitter account, we now have a closer look at what would've been the suits of Miller's Batman and Superman in the canceled Justice League Mortal. Unfortunately, we only have an upper half shot of Man of Steel, which allows for closer inspection. While the Caped Crusader's offers almost a full body profile - as well as a separate piece for his iconic cowl. Check the photos below:

Noticeably, Superman's suit in the concept artwork isn't the same one that we recently saw Cotrona in for a screen test (or in the cast shot). This one has a flatter cape attachment compared the one the actor was sporting. It also seems like he's also sporting the classic red underpants, as well as the classic hair curl.

Batman, on the other hand, appears to have the classic upper body armor with longer cowl horns compared to Ben Affleck's iterations of the suit. Instead, it's a bit similar to Christian Bale's with slightly tilted horns. What's more intriguing however is the harem-looking pants with a drop crotch seemingly made of textured material (mesh?). It's difficult to gauge considering that it's a wide shot and the cast photo featured him posing to the side, but overall, the pants don't look flattering at all.

Considering the time when it was conceptualized, it's understandable why the designs of the costume look very different from the more modern aesthetics of the DCEU version of the character. Regardless of how outdated the suits look, it's still a wonder how Miller would've pulled off Justice League Mortal and how it would've stacked up against a plethora of superhero films now.
