Zack Snyder's Justice League is arguably the longest superhero film, clocking at 4 hours and 2 minutes. This ambitious duration provides enough space for adequate character development for each of the superheroes who form the titular team. Out of the six lead characters, Superman still received lesser screentime mainly because he remains dead for most of the first half.

The primary antagonist, Steppenwolf, and Cyborg's father, Silas Stone, also make the best use of their extended screen presence too. All in all, the DCEU venture was a successful update on the 2017 version that otherwise couldn't provide ample screentime to any of these characters.

Lois Lane - 16 Minutes

Amy Adams as Lois Lane in Justice League

Amy Adams reprised her role as Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane, a character who's mostly dealing with the grief of Superman following his death in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Even though she's present only for a few scenes, her role becomes significant as she is the one who helps to calm down Superman when he's brought back from the dead. Both share an intimate moment at Superman's childhood home at a Kansas farm before he ventures out to help out his superhero peers.

Hippolyta - 20 Minutes

Queen of the Amazons and mother to Diana (Gal Gadot), Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), and her Amazonian warrior forces tried taking down Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) as he arrived at Themyscria to claim one of the Mother Boxes.

Despite their best efforts, Steppenwolf's Parademons foil Hippolyta's strategies, prompting her to light the fire in the Shrine of Amazons to warn her daughter about the invasion. Through a flashback, the film also revealed how Hippolyta fought alongside other Greek Gods and cosmic beings to defeat a young Darkseid. The alliance succeeded and stored the Mother Box in the highly-guarded Penetralium.

Silas Stone - 24 Minutes

Silas Stone in Zack Snyder's Justice League

Silas Stone (Joe Morton) and his son Victor Stone's (Ray Fisher) troubled relationship forms a major plot point in the film. The former head of S.T.A.R Labs relied on a Mother Box to save his son's life after a life-threatening accident.

Finding it difficult to adjust to his newfound abilities and cybernetic form, Victor keeps a distance from his father. However, the pair did seem to get some closure when Silas makes the ultimate sacrifice to save 'The Box of Man.' When Steppenwolf is about to get his hold on the Box, Silas ensures that its core is superheated by a laser so that the Justice League can trace it later.

Superman (Kal-El)- 27 Minutes

Zack Snyder Says Justice League Still 'Not Enough Movie' For His Superman Story

Henry Cavill's Superman had become the subject of much ridicule in 2017's version of Justice League. However, the character gets his redemption in Zack Snyder's cut despite being the team member with the least screentime.

Initially, after his resurrection, Superman fights his own allies in a fit of uncontrollable rage. When Lois Lane reminds him of his life on Earth, he reunites with his mother and the rest of the team. He goes on to play a major role in physically immobilizing Steppenwolf towards the third act. Superman also makes an appearance in the final epilogue that delves on the 'Knightmare' timeline, in which he grieves over a dead Lois Lane.

Steppenwolf  - 37 Minutes

Steppenwolf in Justice League Snyder Cut

Steppenwolf not only got a VFX makeover in the film but his character arc is also developed further. His past is hinted at vaguely, revealing that he had once betrayed Darkseid while serving as his herald. Since then, he wishes to prove his devotion to Darkseid, who tasks him with retrieving all the Mother Boxes on Earth.

Exiled to one hundred fifty thousand worlds for his betrayal, Steppenwolf arrived on the planet after Superman's death awoke the Mother Boxes. He fights off the League till the very end until finally, Wonder Woman ends up decapitating him.

Aquaman (Arthur Curry)- 1 Hour. 11 Minutes.

Unlike his standalone film, Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa) doesn't get to spend much time underwater, but he does end up being a part of many fighting sequences throughout the film.

The future 'King of Atlantis' is introduced as just a lone wanderer who helps a local community in Iceland, bringing them fish and plenty of other resources. Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) tracks him down hoping to recruit him to the team. Despite showing a lot of reluctance initially, he accepts the offer and vouches to fight Steppenwolf after the New God steals the Atlantean Mother Box.

The Flash (Barry Allen)- 1 Hour. 20 Minutes.

Ezra Miller as Barry Allen aka The Flash in the Justice League Snyder Cut

Ezra Miller's take on the scarlet speedster proved to be one of the high points of the film. While providing comic relief, the Flash undergoes a dramatic character development when viewers get a glimpse of his love and devotion for his incarcerated father (Billy Crudup).

When all plans fail to stop Steppenwolf from uniting the Boxes, it's the Flash who runs faster than his own limits changing time in this process. With several memorable slow-motion scenes, it's a promising role for the future course that the character would take in the DC Extended Universe.

Cyborg (Victor Stone)- 1 Hour. 25 Minutes.

Ray Fisher as Victor Stone Cyborg Flashback Zack Snyder Justice League

Justice League chiefly serves as Victor Stone's origin story delving into his past and eventual transformation into a superhero. Unlike other heroes, he's not shown to be very content with his abilities and takes some time to realize his importance in saving the world.

His innumerable technical abilities help the team in many ways. It's also with his help that they are able to trigger Superman's resurrection. By the end of the film, he comes to terms with his responsibilities and adopts the name, Cyborg. He too joins Batman and the Flash in the final Knightmare sequence.

Batman (Bruce Wayne)- 1 Hour. 26 Minutes.

Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne and Batman in Justice League

Billionaire and vigilante Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) is one of the few characters in the film whose character wasn't changed that drastically for Joss Whedon's theatrical cut.

The caped crusader is the one who sets out to unite the League. Even when he isn't aware of Darkseid's ultimate plan, the guilt of Superman's death prompts him to lead a team of heroes to counter threats in his absence. Batman's conversations with Joker and Alfred Pennyworth offer more hints regarding his past in the 'Snyderverse.' The strategic leader of the team, he shares the most screentime in the film after Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman (Diana Prince)- 1 Hour. 28 Minutes.

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in Justice League Snyder Cut

Wonder Woman is introduced in a high-octane action sequence, adding to a more positive portrayal of her fighting skills as compared to the previous Justice League. Apart from her friendship with Batman, Wonder Woman's reasons to fight Steppenwolf are heavily personal after his attack on Themyscria proved to be successful.

She also plays a major role in recruiting Cyborg and mediating internal conflicts within the team. After Flash's time-reversal during the Battle of Pozharnov, Aquaman stabs Steppenwolf in the back while Superman unleashes a heavy punch. In one of the most exciting scenes from the film, Diana jumps in the air and slices off his head. Her death is hinted towards the dark future scenario in Knightmare.
