A new member of the Justice League cast may have just been revealed, and she could play a very important role in Victor Stone/Cyborg's (Ray Fisher) story in the film and DC Extended Universe as a whole. For DC comic book fans everywhere, Justice League will be the first movie that they have to spend some real time getting to know Fisher's take on the beloved character, who they've been waiting to see brought to life on the big screen for decades now. That's not to say that Fisher hasn't been enjoying his time as a Justice League team member over the past few years, though, after showing his support for Wonder Woman on social media and making appearances at several fan conventions around the world.

Unlike Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry/Aquaman, it'll be a few years after Justice League is released before they'll get to see Fisher in a Cyborg solo movie, which is currently slated for a 2020 release date. But with Victor's father, Silas Stone (Joe Morton) already confirmed to be playing some kind of notable role in Justice League, it looks like fans may get to see and learn more about Victor's family in Justice League than may have been hinted at up until this point.

Now, make sure to take this all with a grain of salt for the time being, but IMDb (H/T Comicbook.com) is reporting that actress Karen Bryson will be playing the role of Elinore Stone in Justice League, a.k.a. the mother of Victor Stone. Of course, IMDb is not the most reliable source for casting news/announcements, which makes this just a rumor right now, but one that could hint at a somewhat extensive exploration of Cyborg's origins in Justice League.

Cyborg Justice League

For those who don't already know, Elinore is not only the wife of Silas Stone and mother of Victor in the comics, but she's also a well-renowned scientist at S.T.A.R. Labs, and was killed in Silas' unfortunate lab accident that resulted in the creation of the Cyborg comic book fans know. And considering Bryson's possible involvement in Justice League has gone previously unreported, it's unlikely that she may play a larger role in the film than that, depending on how the movie decides to recount or show Cyborg's backstory on screen.

So by combining not just the possible exploration of Cyborg's family history in Justice League with Silas Stone's connections to the Mother Boxes, it's looking more and more like the Stone family as a whole, and not just Victor, will play integral roles in the overall story of the film. Should both Silas and Elinore appear in the film, they won't be the only iconic comic book parents making an appearance, with Billy Crudup previously confirmed to also be making his debut as Henry Allen in Justice LeagueThat's a lot of backstories and character development for Justice League to get through, but they all could wind up playing integral roles in some of the characters' later solo adventures, including and most specifically, whatever future Cyborg movies and appearances may come in the years moving forwards.
