Welsh actor Julian Lewis Jones has finally revealed his secret Justice League role just a few weeks ahead of the film's release. Anticipation continues to rise for Warner Bros.' fifth installment in their burgeoning DC film universe (unofficially known as the DCEU), with all eyes focused on the core superhero team - Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) - but they aren't the only characters in the movie.

Aside from Superman and Wonder Woman - both of whom have already received their own origin stories - Zack Snyder's latest film will introduce audiences to each character's supporting cast, such as Mera (Amber Heard), Commissioner Gordon (J.K. Simmons), and Dr. Silas Stone (Joe Morton), among others. With a movie this big, though, numerous actors and actresses have joined the film without their roles being disclosed to the public. One such actor was Jones, who confirmed his involvement with the DC movie back in July, though he didn't offer up any details as to whom he could be portraying - or if his role was an original creation for the movie.

Over the past few months, Jones has been rumored to be playing everyone from Atlan, the ancient King of Atlantis, to Darkseid, the villainous ruler of Apokolips and nephew of Justice League's big bad, Steppenwolf. But, it seems the actor couldn't hold out any longer. Jones posted a behind-the-scenes photo of himself in costume on Instagram this afternoon, thus confirming that he's playing King Atlan in the film - though he doesn't explicitly state that in the description. You can check out the photo below:

Jones' image is a cropped version of the behind-the-scenes photo that Snyder had posted on the social media app Vero a few days ago (as part of his ongoing personal marketing campaign for Justice League, posting one behind-the-scenes photo per day). At the time, it was easy to determine that the character in the photo was King Atlan, though it was unclear that Jones was the one in the costume, probably due to the fact that he was (literally) covered from head-to-toe in Atlantean armor, while also sporting a long beard.

The photo itself was a behind-the-scenes look at the movie's ancient prologue sequence, which depicts the New Gods' first war with Earth thousands of years before the events of Justice League. Considering that Jones is playing the Atlantean king during that sequence, that means he won't be appearing anytime in the present day (or future). However, audiences will still see a statue of Jones' character when Arthur Curry travels back down to Atlantis to retrieve his (read: Atlan's) armor for the team's ultimate showdown with Steppenwolf and his Parademon army.
