Joss Whedon has responded to the abusive behavior accusations leveled at him by Justice League star Ray Fisher by offering no comment at all. Whedon boarded Justice League following the departure of original director Zack Snyder. Whedon's job was to complete filming on the DC team-up flick, but he ended up rewriting much of the project. Characters and storylines were removed, including most of the arc for Fisher's character Cyborg. DC fans rebelled after the release of Justice League and began fighting for Snyder's version of the film, titled the Snyder Cut. After years of fighting, the Justice League Snyder Cut will drop on HBO Max next year.

However, the behind the scenes drama of Justice League is still unfolding. Yesterday, Fisher posted an old video of him praising Whedon for his work and calling him a "great guy." Instead of backing up those comments, Fisher simply said, "I’d like to take a moment to forcefully retract every bit of this statement." At first glance, it might've seemed like Fisher was thinking of the changes Whedon made to Snyder's Justice League. That theory was proven wrong earlier today, when Fisher took to Twitter to call out Whedon's on-set behavior, explaining it was "gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable."

Undoubtedly, many were curious to see how Whedon would respond to these accusations. However, when Variety reported on Fisher's tweet, they shared that Whedon had no comment. They also reached out to Warner Bros. but had not heard back. Fisher's tweet, which remains up at the time of this writing, also named producers Geoff Johns and Jon Berg as enablers of Whedon's behavior. Berg responded to the request for comment by saying Fisher's accusations were "categorically untrue that we enabled any unprofessional behavior."

So far, Fisher is the only Justice League cast member to speak out against Whedon in this manner. However, more could emerge. Several of those involved with Justice League have become fervent supporters of the Snyder Cut over the years, with Fisher and Jason Momoa being among the most enthusiastic. With the Snyder Cut finally being released next year, it really does feel like this cast has come full circle.

Only time will tell if Whedon ever opts to fully respond to these accusations, or if they will impact his career in the future. Sadly, stories of terrible on-set behavior aren't anything new, especially when it comes to Whedon, as cast members of several of his projects have spoken out in the past. The specifics of Whedon's actions on the set of Justice League are unclear, but Fisher's comments certainly seem to indicate he's willing to step forward with the true story. Stay tuned for further updates.
