Jesse Eisenberg, who plays the DCEU's Lex Luthor, has weighed in on the Snyder Cut of Justice League. Eisenberg made his debut as the classic comic book villain in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In that movie, he manipulated Superman and Batman to work against each other, leading to the fight promised in the title. However, Luthor is arrested at the end of the film, making him largely absent from Justice League. In the comic book tradition, he appears only in a post-credits scene. In it, he escapes from the asylum and teams with Slade Wilson.

The #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement has become a huge part of the DCEU since Justice League's release in 2017. The Snyder Cut is the vision of director Zack Snyder, who had to leave the film early following a personal tragedy. Joss Whedon stepping in to complete the movie, however big changes were made to Snyder's original story in the process. In the last year, Snyder has confirmed the existence of his cut of Justice League and also released photos of cut scenes. It's unknown if fans will ever see the Snyder Cut, but that doesn't mean viewers and DCEU stars alike will stop discussing it anytime soon.

This includes Jesse Eisenberg. While promoting his recent movie Resistance, Eisenberg spoke with the Toronto Sun about the Snyder Cut movement and his role in it. Eisenberg first admitted he hasn't seen either of his DCEU movies, as he doesn't like watching his own films. He then explained how that's affected his view of the Snyder Cut:

So I’m not aware of a Snyder Cut. I’m not part of — I don’t even know what to call it — the movement. I like Zack Snyder and I worked with him for a while just by virtue of these movies taking so long to film. I love his style and aesthetic and if there’s a movie he wanted to see released, I’m sure it would be great.

Eisenberg also discussed a possible return as Lex Luthor following his post-credits appearance in Justice League, saying, "I love that part but I don’t know what they’re doing with any of the movies. Playing him was the kind of thing you get to do in acting class in high school and never get to do in a movie." This goes along with what Eisenberg said last month about another DCEU appearance. At the time, he said he would love to return because "to play a villain in a superhero movie is the fun part."

Lex Luthor In The Communion Scene of Batman v Superman

Eisenberg is far from the only DCEU actor to weigh in on the Snyder Cut of Justice LeagueBen Affleck, who was the DCEU's Batman before Robert Pattinson took over the role, has been very vocal in his support of the Snyder Cut. Earlier this year, he even went so far as revealing he'd offered to help Zack Snyder in any way he could. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot has said she hasn't seen Snyder's cut of the film but is definitely interested in it. However, Aquaman star Jason Momoa has gone on record as saying he has seen the alternate version, even explaining it's totally different from the theatrical release.

Eisenberg's comments about the Snyder Cut make sense considering how small his role was in the movie. Lex Luthor had a much bigger impact on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice than Justice League. Eisenberg's reveal about not watching any of his own films also lends clarity to the situation. If he doesn't know anything about the final version of the movie, then he has no reason to be interested in the Snyder Cut. However, it's good to hear again that Eiesenberg is open to reprising his role as Lex Luthor, though it likely won't happen anytime soon.
