Warner Bros' DC Comics Extended Universe kicked off in earnest last year with the premiere of Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which featured the returning Clark Kent aka Superman (Henry Cavill) teaming up with Bruce Wayne aka Batman (Ben Affleck) and Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) to take on Lex Luthor's Doomsday creation. The DCEU continued with David Ayer's Suicide Squad last summer, and will next unveil Patty Jenkins' solo Wonder Woman film, but later in 2017 Warner Bros will debut the superhero team-up, Justice League.
In Snyder's third DCEU entry, Batman and Wonder Woman will join forces with the likes of Barry Allen aka The Flash (Ezra Miller), Arthur Curry aka Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Victor Stone aka Cyborg (Ray Fisher). This week, Warner Bros has been gearing up to premiere the second trailer for Justice League, after the first teaser debuted at Comic-Con International in San Diego last summer. Now, the latest trailer teaser and character poster focus on the Fastest Man Alive.
Warner Bros unveiled The Flash trailer teaser, featuring Snyder and Miller's own version of Barry Allen, as well as a character poster akin to those debuted for Aquaman and Batman previously. Take a look at the teaser above and the poster below.
Like the Justice League trailer teasers for Batman and Aquaman before it, this Flash video focuses on one hero and mixes new footage in with snippets we've previously seen. The two new shots are of The Flash fully suited up, one of Barry holding his hands together in a what appears to be a calming moment and the second of the superhero setting himself up to take off running. In that second shot, The Flash wields a bolt of lightning, which he seems to use to propel himself forward. There's also a brief glimpse from behind of Barry running - which differs from the small screen The Flash since the show typically depicts its Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) from the front when he's running.
Of course, both the trailer teaser and character poster for The Flash offer only a fraction of what fans will get to see once the second Justice League trailer debuts this weekend. Certainly, while the poster offers a much more detailed view of The Flash's suit, the character has been featured in a number of the previously released images from Justice League. Still, Warner Bros' plan to space out the character videos and posters in the days leading up to the trailer reveal will no doubt get fans excited. And, with only two days left until the trailer debuts, fans won't have to wait too long.
However, the Justice League movie itself is still many months away from release. Additionally, though Miller's superhero is expected to get a solo The Flash entry in the DCEU, the project is currently without a director and release date (it was originally scheduled to hit theaters in 2018). Perhaps if Barry Allen is well received in Justice League, Warner Bros will move forward with The Flash film.
