Despite the rapid expansion of the DC Extended Universe, many fans are still disappointed that key members of the Justice League will not be present in their first theatrical outing this year. This is particularly true of Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter. Green Lantern Corps. is currently scheduled for a 2020 release, and is expected to include both Hal Jordan and John Stewart's iterations of the characters. Unfortunately for fans of J'onn J'onzz (a.k.a. Martian Manhunter), it seems like the team's resident shapeshifter may be relegated to the Supergirl television series for the foreseeable future.

Fans are still waiting on the first full trailer for Justice League, but in the meantime, Warner Bros. has seen fit to whet our appetite with some dramatic stills from the movie. This has provided a template for what we can expect and has also provided a starting point for fan art to piggyback on.

Digital artist, George Evangelista has popped on our radar before for his work on Black Adam but this time he's stepped up his game to dramatically expand the Justice League roster. Evangelista took a previously released image of Batman, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Aquaman exiting the Flying Fox. He then broadened it to include digital replicas of Martian Manhunter, a fan-casted Idris Elba playing John Stewart, and James Marsden as Hal Jordan. He also included Superman, wearing his hinted at black suit from the "Death of Superman" comic arc.

After hearing lots of DC News in the past few weeks, it has more more excited about what DC has to offer. Can't wait for Justice League! A photo posted by Digital Artist (@georgeevangelista) on

Could this be what the cast of Justice League 2 looks like when (if) it hits in 2019, as expected? It would certainly be a crowded lineup, but The Avengers already hit a team of this size in Age of Ultron and is expanding even further in Infinity War. With such complicated mythologies, should the Green Lantern Corps. or Martian Manhunter be shoehorned into a team movie before being introduced to the public? These are all likely questions at the top of Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment President, Geoff Johns' minds. While building a shared cinematic universe is inarguably more difficult than photoshopping a single image, it's easy to see Evangelista's and get excited by the possibilities.

Are you a fan of Evangelista's picks for the Green Lanterns? Do you hope that Justice League 2 introduces Martian Manhunter? Let us know in the comments section, and stay tuned to Screen Rant for updates on the DCEU as they hit.
