Warning! Spoilers for Justice League #75 by DC Comics

DC Comics is about to destroy the Justice League in the newly teased finale of the superteam's ongoing series, called Death of the Justice League. On his Twitter account, writer Joshua Williamson shared an image featuring the likes of Superman, Wonder Woman, Black Adam, Batman, and the rest of the Justice League in significant pain with the words "Death of the Justice League," separating the art. Is DC about to relaunch its biggest superteam in a big way?

Earlier last month, DC Comics revealed Brian Michael Bendis was stepping away from Justice League and wrapping up his own arc before moving on to Naomi Season Two and the Justice League vs. The Legion of Super-Heroes miniseries. It hasn't even been a full year since DC Comics announced Bendis and David Marquez were taking over the title. Now, readers know the Justice League's ongoing title at DC Comics will be wrapped up dramatically as Joshua Williamson will team up with Rafa Sandoval and Alejandro Sánchez for Justice League's closing chapter, Death of the Justice League.

Joshua Williamson, whose work on Infinite Frontier and Justice League Incarnate has had serious ramifications on the DC Universe, will be writing Justice League #75 alongside artist Rafa Sandoval and colorist Alejandro Sanchez. Williamson told EW that his previous work has been building to Death of Justice League as the heroes will be called into action against a Dark Army and lose. The series will explore the ramifications of the Justice League's defeat and how fellow heroes will react after the devastating loss. Check out the cover for Justice League #75 by Daniel Sampere, as well as Dan Jurgens and Norm Rapmund's variant for the series finale below.

DC Comics revealed the Justice League finale would feature the likes of Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Aquaman, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Hawkgirl, Black Canary, and Zatanna will head out on the mission to stop the Darky Army, only for one of the hero's to return. However, if Jurgens and Rapmund's cover for Death of Justice League is any indication, readers should put their money on Hawkgirl, Black Canary, Martian Manhunter, or Zatanna being the only Justice League hero from the group left alive.

It sure appears like DC Comics is about to relaunch the Justice League, and what better way of doing so with an epic finale that forces the greatest remaining DC heroes to figure out how to continue without their greatest leaders around. The Death of Justice League arc from Justice League #75 arrives in comic book stores on April 19, 2020.
