The Justice League has just managed to save the world from a cosmic flood, but their next mission to understand DC's new universe is taking them to the homeworld of two fan-favorite heroes - Hawkman and Hawkgirl.

The League is already a member down, after the events of Aquaman: Drowned saw Arthur Curry "killed" to start over in his own comic reboot. But in our preview of Justice League #14, the heroes prove that their work is never done. Now that the killer tides are receding, Batman can finally get back to risking his life unlocking the secrets of the strange figures and forces now working in the shadows of the DC Universe. First stop? Hawkworld.

Justice League #14 wastes no time in picking up where the series left off before Aquaman's Drowned catastrophe, with Batman trying to uncover the scheming and secrets of Lex Luthor and his new Legion of Doom. Those mysteries are still concealed from even the reader, but the biggest clue is still lying comatose in the Hall of Justice: the hero called Starman who, true to all past versions of the hero, has crashed into the League's lap with enough power to destroy the planet - and a mind far too broken to control it.

That's the exact kind of scenario Batman is built to investigate... even if it means putting his own mind and life on the line. Check out the preview pages of Justice League #14 below:

Fans will be able to read the rest of the issue when it hits physical and digital shelves on Wednesday, but for now, Batman's cryptic visions of Hawkgirl's wings, the famous Source Wall, and more can keep theories building. Let's all just breathe a major sigh of relief that Batman's 'son' Jarro survived the psychic strain of linking Batman's brain to Starman's. These are strange days where the mythology of Hawkman, Hawkgirl, and Hawkworld are concerned, and DC has shown that new, bombshell moments in one book can be felt throughout the rest of the comic catalogue. But there's one thing we know for sure: when even Batman isn't sure where to investigate next, things are going to get worse before they get better. In the meantime, read on for the full synopsis and details below:
