A new look at Henry Cavill's Superman for Justice League has been unveiled thanks to some calendar art. Despite the character dying in last year's Batman V Superman, the Man of Steel will be back in the thick of things to a new assembled team brought together by his former enemy, turned colleague, Batman (Ben Affleck) and consisting of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) to fight the looming threat that is Steppenwolf and the parademons.

Despite fans knowing that Superman will indeed be part of Justice League, DC and Warner Bros. are keeping their lips tightly shut as to what his role will be in the film. Thus far, he has yet to make any full debut on the movie trailers and has been mostly absent in a lot of the promo stills and posters for the film. While a tease of his return was included in the ensemble film's latest trailer released during last month's San Diego Comic-Con, all we see is a tiny part of his red cape while Alfred (Jeremy Irons) presumably talks to the Kryptonian. His absence from the marketing materials further hypes fans on the resurgence of Clark after his supposed death.

This particular tip comes from Henry Cavill News (via Batman News) which shares a snap of Superman in his iconic red and blue fight suit as Cavill strikes a battle-ready pose. The overall ensemble is very similar to what he donned in Dawn of Justice, although it appears that it is a bit brighter than his Man of Steel garb.

There has been a lot of talk regarding Superman's involvement in Justice League both in front of the camera and behind it. For a time, speculation pondered a Black-suit wearing superhero with a full beard appearing in the film. Off-screen, Cavill's  Mission: Impossible 6 schedule and controversial mustache were said to be causing Warner Bros. problems with regard to the ongoing reshoots now spearheaded by Joss Whedon.

Just a few of days ago, a new look for Batman also hit the internet thanks to a similar situation. That, however, only featured the Caped Crusader's face profile as he scowls under his mask. Further, unlike Superman's image which is in full colored glory, Affleck's was in monochromatic black and white which suits his dark and gritty vibe more.

With just a few months to go before Justice League is released, fans are eager to uncover the mystery behind Superman's secret role in the ensemble film. Despite the character launching the DCEU with his first standalone film in 2013, his arrival was met with mixed reaction from the audience. That said, Cavill's upcoming reprisal of the superhero is being poised as the reveal of the real Superman with his expected rebirth causing diehards to see the character as he was originally depicted in the comics -- full of light and hope.
