Robin Wright's cut Antiope scene in 2017's Justice League can now be seen thanks to a behind-the-scenes images shared by the film's cinematographer. Debuting in Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman in that same year, Antiope was Diana Prince's (Gal Gadot) aunt and Themyscira's military leader. Sadly, she was killed during an altercation with human beings after Steve Trevor's (Chris Pine) accidental arrival to the hidden paradise.

The first Warner Bros. and DC superhero ensemble project brought together the League as they fended off Steppenwolf's attempt to take over the world. The narrative's McGuffins were the so-called Mother Boxes - one of which was awarded to the Amazonians to keep and protect. Naturally, it was the villain's first stop as he set on a journey to collect all of them in the hopes of executing his plan of total Earth domination. Wright's Antiope was confirmed to appear in Justice League, with the actress even teasing more of her dynamic with Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) - Diana's mother. But when the film hit theatres, the capable general was nowhere to be found.

Now, thanks to a couple of behind-the-scenes images care of Wagner, fans can have a glimpse of what Antiope's role in Justice League was supposed to be. Both photos feature the Amazonians in preparation for a battle sequence, with the second image revealing Antiope riding a horse beside Hippolyta. Check out the images below:

Based on Hippolyta's head piece, this was during the filming of Justice League's epic history lesson sequence where Diana recalls to Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) what the deal was with the Mother Boxes and why Steppenwolf was hellbent in getting his hands on them. This fits with Wright's comments about her role in Justice League prior to the movie's release. And, it makes sense considering by the time the contemporary events of the Snyder movie went down, Antiope was already killed in Wonder Woman. It's uncertain why this part was cut from the film since it could've been easily slotted in the said major sequence, but considering that two-hour run-time mandate from Warner Bros., they needed to condense the movie as tightly as possible. And if that meant cutting split-second shots, then they had to do it.

Of course, it didn't help that Snyder, who finished principal photography for Justice League was replaced by Joss Whedon after he needed to step away from the project due to a personal tragedy. This led to reported extensive reshoots which drastically changed the movie. Much of what Snyder's filmed was left out on the editing room floor which paved the way for the Release The Snyder Cut movement. In any case, fans can still look forward to see Antiope, this time in Wonder Woman 1984, and this time, everyone's hoping she doesn't get edited out from the film's theatrical cut.
