UPDATE: LightCast's Justice League 2 motion comic has been accused of tracing the artwork of DC Comics artists. Screen Rant's original article continues below.

Zack Snyder, Jim Lee, and Geoff Johns’ storyboards for Justice League 2 will be released as a motion comic made by fans. Following Snyder’s departure from Justice League’s production, the theatrical release of “Josstice League,” and the resulting fan campaign to release the Snyder Cut, Zack Snyder’s Justice League made its way to HBO Max earlier this year. The four-hour epic fulfilled Snyder’s vision for the film and gave audiences a taste of his grand plan for the DC Extended Universe, with Justice League being part of a planned trilogy of movies.

Despite the critical and commercial acclaim of Snyder’s Justice League, Warner Bros./DC has largely ignored cries to restore his universe. The future of the Snyder-Verse remains confined to information revealed during interviews, leaked pieces of concept art, and other tidbits divulged on social media. Justice League 2 would’ve continued towards the Apokoliptic Knightmare timeline teased in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and in the epilogue of Justice League. Storyboards for Justice League 2 and 3 have revealed Snyder’s plans to include Lex Luthor’s (Jessie Eisenberg) Injustice League/Legion of Doom, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Batman, and Flash villains, which was teased in the mid-credits scene of the theatrical cut.

A non-profit fan project, The Dreamscapes of Justice League: A Motion Comic, will adapt storyboards created by Snyder, Jim Lee, and Geoff Johns to create a full-motion comic film. Justice League’s Darkseid actor Ray Porter will narrator the film, will outline all of Snyder’s plans for future Justice League movies, and release later this year. The film is being made with the intent to support #RestoreTheSnyderVerse and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Snyder’s Justice League follows its titular heroes as they attempt to prevent Steppenwolf from terraforming the Earth for Darkseid, who has desired the Ant-Life Equation for centuries. The Anti-Life Equation allows those who know it to dominate any race in existence. That said, the Knightmare future is one in which Darkseid conquers Earth, Superman succumbs to the Anti-Life Equation (following the death of a pregnant Lois Lane), and Bruce Wayne/Batman leads Flash and a weakened group of heroes.

Justice League 2 would have seen the Riddler solve the Ant-Life Equation before killing himself in front of Batman, Ocean Master and Black Manta killing Aquaman, Dr. Poison killing Wonder Woman in Themyscira, Captain Cold attacking Flash leading Cyborg to intervene, only for half his body to be ripped off. All of these events, including Luthor’s death at the eyes of Superman, would lead into Justice League 3, forcing Flash to run through time and rewrite history. The finale would have seen all of Earth’s heroes, led by Superman, and the Green Lantern Corps battle Darkseid. It’s unclear how much of the storyboards will be adapted in this motion comic, but it seems certain the fans will honor Snyder’s vision as faithfully as possible. Justice League 2 and Justice League 3 may never be seen on the big screen, but a motion comic of Snyder's storyboards is better than nothing.
