Jason Momoa jokes that Warner Bros. is waiting to make Justice League 2 until he is available to direct it. Momoa has been acting since the late '90s when he appeared on Baywatch but started getting more recognition after his role in Game of Thrones as Khal Drogo. However, the actor is now most known for playing Arthur Curry in the DCEU, appearing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, and Aquaman.

While having a sizeable role in 2017's Justice League, Momoa's character got a more developed backstory in Justice League's Snyder Cut. Momoa was one of the strongest supporters of the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement. Since its release in March, Zack Snyder's Justice League has been praised by fans and critics, yet Warner Bros. has no plans to continue the director's vision. Even though there was room for a sequel at the end of Joss Whedon's Justice League and even more so at the end of Snyder's version with Martian Manhunter meeting Bruce Wayne, it's unlikely that this iteration of the Justice League will ever regroup for another film.

During an interview with CinemablendMomoa briefly talked about Justice League 2 while promoting his Netflix movie Sweet Girl. Momoa joked that Warner Bros. is waiting for him to become available to direct Justice League 2 and that they want Brian Mendoza, director of Sweet Girl, to work on the movie as well. Momoa's full comment can be read below:

I think they’re waiting for me to direct it. They’re basically waiting for Warner Bros. to call me up and say, ‘Jason, I love you. I love what you guys are doing. Love the movie. I love Sweet Girl. Hey, let’s get Brian Mendoza, let’s get Jason Momoa to produce and direct the new Justice League.’ Sounds like, ‘You know what guys? We’re in.’

Momoa was clearly joking about directing Justice League 2, but he currently is an incredibly in-demand actor. Momoa is next appearing in Denis Villeneuve's Dune as Duncan Idaho and is also filming Aquaman and the Lost KingdomThe first Aquaman did incredibly well for Warner Bros., earning over $1 billion at the global box office. As mentioned above, it's unlikely Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, and Momoa will star in another team-up movie, but depending on how Aquaman 2 performs, the actor could be brought back for Aquaman 3 or be involved in another DC venture.

If Warner Bros. did hire Momoa to direct Justice League 2, it would be a milestone in his career. The actor has only directed one movie before, Road to Paloma in 2014, so directing a blockbuster as big as a Justice League sequel would be a huge opportunity for Momoa. That being said, many DC fans would be hesitant to watch Justice League 2 if Snyder wasn't directly involved with the project. Even though seeing Justice League 2 and the SnyderVerse continue seems like a pipe dream, it's interesting to consider what the film could look like if Warner Bros. was seriously considering Momoa.
