The new trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom gets a teaser featuring scary dinosaurs, a gun-toting Bryce Dallas Howard, and - most importantly - Jeff Goldblum. Released almost fifteen years after the last of the original Jurassic Park movies, 2015's Jurassic World reignited the franchise with a staggering worldwide box office take of $1.6 billion worldwide. After that, it was a no-brainer for Universal to make a sequel, bringing back star Chris Pratt for more epic dinosaur mayhem.

Titled Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, that sequel sees Owen (Pratt) journeying to an isolated island where Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) operates a sanctuary for dinosaurs. One may immediately question the wisdom of operating a dino sanctuary after the way they ran amuck in Jurassic World, but you at least have to give Claire points for courage. Unfortunately, the island has a volcano on it and that volcano is about to explode. Now Owen and Claire must try to save their dinosaur friends from fiery extinction.

A first trailer for Fallen Kingdom debuted back in December, with a second trailer dropping during the Super Bowl. Universal plans to release a new trailer next week on Wednesday, April 18, and they've given us a taste via a teaser clip posted to Twitter. Watch the video below:

The new teaser hits every point important to Fallen Kingdom. There are dinosaurs. Chris Pratt does some very dashing, heroic things. Bryce Dallas Howard will not be running around in high heels in this one. In fact, she gets to point a gun with a laser sight. Things get epic, with volcanoes and huge dinosaurs and humans looking puny. And most importantly of all, Jeff Goldblum is back as Ian Malcolm (though apparently Goldblum's actual role in the film is small). And this time he performs with his shirt on, unlike when he did Jurassic Park.

Reactions to previous Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailers have been mixed to say the least. While most everyone was thrilled at the glimpses of Goldblum, fewer people were turned on by the movie's apparent epic cheesiness. Of course, Jurassic World was fairly cheesy itself and it became a major blockbuster. Whenever filmmakers try to up the action quotient for a sequel, there's always the danger things could degenerate into spectacle-over-substance. The new teaser gives us a few of those spectacular shots, including one of Pratt acrobatically flipping through the jaws of a T-Rex. But it also gives us a hint of scarier shots more reminiscent of Steven Spielberg's original Jurassic Park, a movie that struck the perfect balance between awe-inspiring moments and more intimate thriller scenes.

More: Stop The Jurassic World Franchise

With Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom nearing release, Universal is moving ahead with Jurassic World 3. Spielberg himself has confirmed that Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow is back for the third installment, taking over for Fallen Kingdom's J.A. Bayona.
