Warning: SPOILERS for Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Season 3.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous season 3 leads right into Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and the last two episodes even take place at the same time as Jurassic World 2's prologue. For the past three seasons, the six teenage Campers have been stranded on Isla Nublar after the island was evacuated in Jurassic World. Against all odds, the kids survived and even figured out a way to escape the island on their own until mercenaries arrived to extract the Indominus Rex's DNA from the Mosasaurus lagoon.

For Jurassic fans, one of the most satisfying aspects of Camp Cretaceous is that the animated series is canonical with the films and fills in the blanks of what else happened during, before, and after the events of the first Jurassic World movie. Camp Cretaceous season 3 is set six months after Jurassic World and the final two episodes, "Whatever It Takes" and "Stay On Mission," happen at the same time as the opening scene of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom so that fans actually learn what else happened simultaneously to the mercenaries acquiring the Indominus Rex's DNA. Thanks to Camp Cretaceous season 3, fans learn the full story seen through the eyes of Darius (Paul-Mikél Williams), Brooklynn (Jenna Ortega), Ben (Sean Giambrone), Kenji (Ryan Potter), Yasmina (Kausar Mohammed), and Sammy (Raini Rodriguez).

As seen in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's prologue, the mercenaries are attacked by the Tyrannosaurus Rex and one of them is eaten by the Mosasaurus before the aquatic dinosaur escaped its lagoon and made it out into the open sea. But Camp Cretaceous establishes that when the mercenaries arrived on Isla Nublar, they encountered the Campers trying to sail to Costa Rica aboard the late big game hunters Mitch (Bradley Whitford) and Tiff's (Stephanie Beatriz) boat. When they returned to the dock, the kids and the mercs are met by the T-Rex, who chase them into the jungle. Brooklyn, Yas, and Darius are separated from the others and they end up leading the T-Rex back to Main Street, where it finds the mercenaries and the events of Camp Cretaceous seamlessly link up directly to Fallen Kingdom. Camp Cretaceous even recreates the T-Rex and Mosasaurus' attacks from the POV of the Campers.

Meanwhile, Dr. Henry Wu (Greg Chun) also returned to Jurassic World with his own team of mercenaries. Wu intends to regain his laptop, which has all of his research on hybrid dinosaurs. But he's unaware that the Campers are still on the island and that they also found his research. They even fought and killed Wu's original hybrid creation, the Scorpios Rex. While the first team of mercenaries is able to escape the island with the Indominus Rex DNA sample they came for, Dr. Wu has to contend with the six Campers working together to keep the geneticist from reacquiring his research.

Dr. Wu takes Brooklynn hostage while the others regroup and decide to copy Wu's files onto a flash drive before wiping his laptop clean. But Kenji, who was worried about Brooklyn, takes the laptop and tries to exchange it for his friend. Before Wu and his thugs can betray them, Ben leads his pet Ankylosaurus, Bumpy, and her pack of armor-plated dinosaurs on a stampede that kept the Campers safe from the mercenaries. Finally, Dr. Wu left the island by helicopter and he abandoned the Campers, although he regained his laptop and enough of his research to later create the Indoraptor.

Camp Cretaceous season 3 ends slightly after Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's prologue is over, with the six Campers reunited and sailing back to Costa Rica. However, there's also an ominous sadness because fans know something the Campers don't: Mt. Sibo's eruption will destroy Isla Nublar in a year and a half, which means that many of the dinosaurs will die, and that could include Bumpy. If Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous gets a season 4, it's possible the kids could rescue Bumpy before the island is doomed.
