A Lagoon is one of the few different enclosures available in Jurassic World Evolution 2and it allows players to rescue and breed marine dinosaurs. JWE2's more diverse collection of dinosaurs is an exciting development in the franchise, and it has naturally resulted in a few more options for enclosures and structures. Now players are able to enjoy dinosaurs that walk, fly, and swim.

JWE2's Marine dinosaurs are pretty unique and less well-known than their landbound and flying counterparts. Many exciting dinosaurs braved the waters of prehistory, and Jurassic World Evolution 2 includes a few interesting species. Most of these marine dinosaurs are strictly piscivores, meaning they eat only fish, with the exception of the Mosasaur. The Mosasaur is a broad carnivore and can eat both fish and other meats.

To build a Lagoon in Jurassic World Evolution 2, players will first need to have their scientists research them to unlock them. Lagoons are caged-off bodies of deep water that allow marine dinosaurs to swim freely. They require a hatchery, feeders, and a viewing platform like any other enclosure, even if players don't plan to breed. Dinosaurs must enter through the hatchery, and rangers can be assigned to it to supervise the marine dinosaurs in Jurassic World Evolution 2.

Jurassic World Evolution 2: How To Build A Lagoon (Marine Dinosaurs)

Lagoons, similarly to Jurassic World Evolution 2's Aviaries, are built-in circular pieces that connect smoothly when conjoined. This means that Lagoons can be made in pretty much any shape that players want, except anything with hard corners. This will allow players to seamlessly integrate Lagoons with the rest of the park, as long as they have space for feeders, a hatchery, and a viewing platform. They can only place Lagoon tiles on even ground, though, so it is vital to ensure that the ground is level before placing them. Also, players will have to use the lagoon-specific viewing platform, which is one of two significant differences in Lagoon equipment. The other difference is what feeders they use.

There are different types of feeders for Lagoons in Jurassic World Evolution 2, and they are called Marine Fish Feeders and Shark Feeders. By clicking on a specific dinosaur, players can find out which feeder they need. Improper or inadequate feeding can lead to illness and death, though marine dinosaurs don't seem to be able to break out of their enclosures. This may change in the future, but it seems as though players don't need to worry about their aquatic exhibits running away. Regardless, players will want to ensure their marine dinosaurs, such as the Mosasaur or Attenborosaurus, are well-fed so that they stay alive and happy. Lagoons can still be damaged by weather, making them less attractive and smaller, so players should still watch for repairs.
