It appears that Jurassic World Dominion will release an extended version of the film on home video. Currently in theaters, Jurassic World Dominion is the final chapter in the Jurassic World trilogy, seemingly bringing the franchise to a close. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World Dominion brings together the franchise stars of Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, as well as supporting actors like DeWanda Wise, BD Wong, Mamoudou Athie, Isabella Sermon, Omar Sy, Justice Smith, and Campbell Scott.

To date, Jurassic World Dominion has pulled in $438 million worldwide and is sure to continue its climb over the long weekend. While it's the worst-reviewed entry in the franchise by critics, sitting at 30% on Rotten Tomatoes, it's also the second-highest rated among fans, sitting at 78%, just under the original Jurassic Park, which is the highest-rated for audiences at 91%. The mixed ratings provide for a perplexing prognosis over how it will perform over the long haul, but thus far, it has beat expectations and appears to be beating the critic ratings. Now there's some new incentive to watch the movie when it hits home video.

According to leaked box art revealed at Blu-Ray.com and Jurassic Outpost, Jurassic World Dominion will be releasing both a theatrical and extended version of the film when it releases on disc and streaming. No further details have been revealed in terms of what will be included in the extended cut, although Trevorrow previously stated roughly 15 minutes were cut from the theatrical release, including the original teaser that took place during the Cretaceous era that was shown in theaters. In addition, there's a sequence at the underground market in Malta with a fight between a Lystrosaurus and an Oviraptor and another longer scene between Louis Dodgson and Ramsay Cole at the Biosyn Headquarters. In addition to the extended cut of Jurassic World Dominion, there are also plans to release a full boxed set of the entire franchise. The Jurassic World: Ultimate Collection Giftset will feature all six films from the series, as well as exclusive box art and a limited edition statue of Blue and Beta in the snow. A release date has not yet been announced for either the standalone extended version of Jurassic World Dominion or the boxed set, but preorders are currently open for both.

While Jurassic World Dominion has divided audiences and critics alike, the box office shows that interest is still high for the franchise, which has continued to expand in film, TV, video games, and merchandise since it kicked off in 1993. The latest film is said to be the end of the franchise, but that's highly unlikely to be the case if Jurassic World Dominion performs anywhere near as well as the last two films, both of which earned well over $1 billion at the box office. With that kind of financial draw, there's sure to be more from the Jurassic Park franchise in the future, probably sooner than later.
