A new poster for Jurassic World: Dominion teases a connection back to the original dinosaur DNA cloned in Jurassic ParkDominion is the final entry in the Jurassic Park sequel trilogy, and anticipation for the new film is high as director Colin Trevorrow has promised to deliver a satisfying ending. Filming on the sequel began in 2020 with a script written by Emily Carmichael, based on a story by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly.

The plot has been kept under wraps, but Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and BD Wong are all expected to return. Additionally, original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum will reprise their roles as Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Ian Malcolm. The sequel will presumably follow up on the ending of  2015's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which saw several dinosaurs sold and spread worldwide, allowing other people to create their own dinosaurs.

While much is still unknown about Jurassic World: Dominion, Universal's first official poster for the film hints that the story may circle back to the original Jurassic Park in an unexpected way. The one-sheet features a close-up look at a mosquito drinking blood from the thick hide of a dinosaur called a Moros Intrepidus, with the tagline "It all started here."  You can see the full poster below:

The mosquito is a callback to how John Hammond (founder of Jurassic Park) recreated modern-day dinosaurs using fossilized DNA taken from a mosquito frozen in amber. In Jurassic Park, scientists extracted dinosaur blood from a fossilized mosquito and then combined it with DNA from various other animals to create the park's dinosaurs. The new poster harkens back to this origin story, especially with the inclusion of the tagline, "it all started here," as it quite literally started with this exact moment.

How the Jurassic World: Dominion story ties back 65 million years remains to be seen. The returning original film stars, and now this new poster image certainly seems to hint at a finale that spends a lot of time reflecting on the franchise. Plus, previously released photos from the film reveal Pratt's Owen Grady on a boat in a location that doesn't exactly fit with the look of the islands audiences have been introduced to in the series. Perhaps part of the story focuses on the Jurassic World characters rushing to stop the spread of dinosaurs from the island. At the same time, the original trilogy stars look to the origins of the park to find a way to stop this out-of-control experiment for good.
