Dichen Lachman has been cast in Jurassic World 3. Lachman has been involved with many TV shows during her career, including Shameless and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but today she is most known for her roles in Animal Kingdom and Altered Carbon.
Production on Jurassic World 3 has yet to start but is expected to soon to meet its 2021 release date. Among the various updates fans have gotten are tons of casting announcements. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are unsurprisingly returning for the third Jurassic World, but so is Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, and Isabella Sermon, who were all introduced in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Fans will also finally see the reunion of Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern, who of course were the stars of the original Jurassic Park trilogy. Now, the cast has grown by one.
Yesterday Deadline reported that Lachman had joined the cast of Jurassic World 3. Lachman's role in the film is unknown at this time, much like Mamoudoun Athie and DeWanda Wise, who are also playing new but unknown characters in Jurassic World 3.
At this point, it's anybody's guess what the plot of Jurassic World 3 will be about. The end of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom teased the possibility of the dinosaurs actually ruling the world, but director Colin Trevorrow wants to make the film feel more like the original Jurassic Park. Part of his plan to achieve this is to not include hybrid dinosaurs in his film, which turned out to be a controversial aspect of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Fans have also gotten both a short film called Battle at Big Rock as well as a prequel comic series, teasing what's in store for Jurassic World 3.
While the story for Jurassic World 3 is currently unknown, fans can rest easy knowing the film will have a star-studded cast. The news about Neill, Goldblum, and Dern were no doubt the biggest casting announcements thus far, but Lachman is also good news for the film. As mentioned above, Lachman starred in Altered Carbon as Reileen Kawahara, and also appeared in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for nine episodes as Jiaying. With the popularity of both shows, Lachman has no doubt earned herself some fans. It's unknown if Lachman will have a minor or major role in Jurassic World 3, so fans will just have to wait for more details to be revealed.
