A tyrannosaurus rex attacks a drive-in movie theater in a new poster for Jurassic World: Dominion. The Jurassic World movies owe much of their success to the popularity of Steven Spielberg's 1993 classic Jurassic Park and its 1997 sequel, The Lost World, both based on Michael Crichton's novels of the same name. Jurassic Park III was an outlier in the original trilogy, as it was neither directed by Spielberg nor based on a Crichton novel, though interest in the franchise was reinvigorated with the release of Jurassic World in 2015.

Plot details for the upcoming installment are slim to none, though it will act as a direct sequel to the previous film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which saw the cloned dinosaurs freely roaming the Earth. Dominion is once again led by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard along with returning actors Daniella Pineda, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, and Omar Sy. The film will also see the return of original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and introduce new characters played by DeWanda Wise, Mamoudou Athie, Scott Haze, Dichen Lachman, and Campbell Scott. Colin Trevorrow returns to direct the threequel based on a script he wrote with Emily Carmichael and Derek Connolly.

Now, Universal Pictures has unveiled a brand new poster for Jurassic World: Dominion. The promotional poster teases a continuation of the last film, as a tyrannosaurus rex stumbles upon a drive-in theater full of people to the amazement of one kid holding a bucket of popcorn. But the dinosaur's silhouette projected onto the screen behind him also recalls the franchise's iconic logo, which dates all the way back to the cover of Crichton's novel. Check out the new poster below:

The poster was released in conjunction with the five-minute preview video for Jurassic World: Dominion that just debuted online to the public. This is the same prologue that played before IMAX screenings of another Universal release, F9, this past June. The prologue takes viewers back 65 million years to the Cretaceous Era before jumping ahead to present day, as a T-rex happens upon a drive-in full of people watching American Graffiti.

It's unclear right now if this prologue is part of the actual film, or is merely a promotional video for the upcoming installment. Regardless, this is the second poster Jurassic World: Dominion has received, the first also drawing heavily from the prologue that first debuted this past summer. With the film's release date so far away, expect much more promotional content from now until Jurassic World: Dominion debuts in theaters next summer.
