In a new Jurassic World: Dominion set photo, Jeff Goldblum recreates Ian Malcolm's shirtless scene from Jurassic Park. Steven Spielberg's 1993 adventure movie has become a classic, and effectively launched a franchise. Not only was Jurassic Park followed by two sequels, but the franchise was rebooted in 2015 by Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World. Since then, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom released and Trevorrow is currently filming the third film in Universal's reboot, Jurassic World: Dominion. Although Goldblum's Ian Malcolm had a small role in Fallen Kingdom, Dominion will bring back all three leads from Jurassic Park: Goldblum, Sam Neill and Laura Dern.

There's plenty to love about the original Jurassic Park - from the cast's performances to the practical effects that still hold up almost three decades later. And one of the more beloved elements of Jurassic Park in particular is Goldblum's Malcolm. There's one scene specifically that's become iconic in its own right: When Goldblum, his shirt unbuttoned and some scratches on his face and chest and leg bandaged from an injury, lounges in an underground bunker that's part of the park. The scene has become so memorable, a shirtless Malcolm statue was unveiled in London for Jurassic Park's 25th anniversary. Now, Goldblum is paying his own homage to the scene in a new image.

On Instagram, Goldblum shared a Jurassic World: Dominion set photo in which his Ian Malcolm is again lounging around shirtless underground, albeit 27 years later. Check out the image below.

It's unclear whether the recreated scene will be included in Trevorrow's upcoming movie, or if the cast was just goofing around, but it's certainly fun to see the image. It's entirely possible that Trevorrow will include his own homage to Jurassic Park's shirtless Malcolm scene since that image of Goldblum has become as much a part of popular culture as Spielberg's movie. There's even a Funko Pop! figure of shirtless Dr. Ian Malcolm. Considering Jurassic World featured a character who wore an original Jurassic Park T-shirt as a reference to the events in the original movie, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for Trevorrow to include a nod to Goldblum's shirtless scene.

If Jurassic World: Dominion does include a shirtless Ian Malcolm, it appears the mathematician won't be laid up with an injury this time - unless it's out of frame in the new photo. That doesn't necessarily mean Malcolm fairs better against the dinosaurs in Dominion, but indicates that if Trevorrow is paying homage to Jurassic Park, it won't be an exact recreation, injury and all. In terms of why Malcolm is shirtless in the Jurassic Park scene, Goldblum has explained it's because Isla Nublar is near Costa Rica and so the weather was meant to be hot. It's unclear what reasoning may be behind Goldblum's Malcolm unbuttoning his shirt once again - but that may be revealed in Jurassic World: Dominion if the film does include its own Jurassic Park homage.
