This summer's Jurassic World: Dominion has audiences buzzing with anticipation, especially in its promise of really connecting the two Jurassic trilogies together. The sixth installment of cinema's greatest dinosaur saga is bringing back all the legacy characters including those played by Sam Niell, Jeff Goldblum, and Chris Pratt.

The franchise has featured some truly shocking deaths over the years, with many villains meeting their comeuppance at the hands of the dinos. But fans have also had to witness the hard-hitting deaths of some beloved characters.

Ken Wheatley

The big-game hunters are some of the most interesting characters in the Jurassic Park films. Fallen Kingdom took this trope in a vastly different direction from the earlier films by introducing the deceitful and despicable Ken Wheatley.

Terrifically played by Monk's Ted Levine, Wheatley enjoyed pulling the teeth of captured dinosaurs as his trophies. Wheatley was tricked by the Indoraptor, who he thought was sedated. He entered its cage to pull a tooth, but the Indoraptor sprang to life and bit off his arm before finishing him off.

Peter Ludlow

The nephew of John Hammond took control of the company after the events of Jurassic Park and formed a plan to get InGen out of bankruptcy. As seen in The Lost World, He sought to use InGen's abandoned amphitheater project in San Diego to host dinosaurs for audiences to see.

Ludlow was disdainful of the dinosaurs and formed an expedition to capture dinosaurs from Isla Sorna for the San Diego amphitheater. He brought an adult T-Rex and its child to San Diego which led to absolute chaos. In the end, Ludlow was killed by the baby while the adult T-Rex presided.

Vic Hoskins

The main human antagonist of Jurassic World was instigating the use of dinosaurs for military purposes. He oversaw the training of velociraptors and made a secret deal with geneticism Dr. Wu to weaponize the Indominus Rex.

When the Indominus Rex escaped and wreaked havoc on the park, Hoskins seized control and ordered that the trained velociraptors be used against it. This plan backfired, as the Indominus Rex became their new alpha, and Hoskins was mauled to death by one of the raptors.

Dennis Nedry

The main programmer behind the original Jurassic Park, Dennis Nedry was experiencing financial troubles and decided to betray Hammond after being denied a raise. He sided with Biosyn and was hired by their representative Lewis Dodgson to steal dinosaur embryos from Jurassic Park.

He created a backdoor program that would shut down various security systems while he stole the embryos and made a dash for the dock. Nedry got lost in the storm and ended up in an area populated by Dilophosaurus. The creatures sprayed him with their venom before devouring him in his vehicle.

Donald Gennaro

Gennaro is the man who suffered the franchise's most well-known and talked about death. A lawyer for InGen, Gennaro was not a villain but he prioritized financial gains over questioning the ethics of cloning dinosaurs.

During the 1993 incident on Isla Nublar, Gennaro and other guests were stuck in cars in view of the escaping Tyrannosaurus Rex.  The sight of the creature caused him to run into the restroom. Soon the T-Rex burst through the building and, spotting Gennaro, ate him off the toilet seat.

Robert Muldoon

Robert Muldoon encountering the Big One raptor in Jurassic Park

The game warden of the original Jurassic Park, Muldoon was present at both of the incidents suffered by the park. When Alan Grant and the other guests arrive, Muldoon discussed the dangers and intelligence of the Velociraptors, insisting that they should all be destroyed.

He later accompanied Ellie Sattler to the maintenance shed. On the way, he discovered that the raptors had escaped their enclosure. Muldoon stalked one of the raptors and prepared to shoot it when another raptor emerged from the bushes beside him. With admiration, he remarked "clever girl" before being mauled to death.

Jophery Brown

The opening scene of Jurassic Park

The death that started it all! Jophery served as the gatekeeper of the Velociraptor enclosure at the original Jurassic Park. His death came during the transfer of the raptors into the pen.

While standing on top of the cage, the alpha raptor caused the cage and the pen to separate which resulted in Jophery falling in between them. Despite Muldoon's desperate efforts, Jophery was pulled into the cage and killed. This resulted in a $20 million lawsuit and an investigation of the park.

Ray Arnold

The Chief Engineer of Jurassic Park, Arnold was forced to deal with the sabotage by Dennis Nedry. After rebooting the entire system, he went to the maintenance shed to reset the circuit breaker.

When Dr. Sattler went looking for him there, she felt his arm on his shoulder but then realized it had been severed by a velociraptor. Played by Samuel L. Jackson, Mr. Arnold is best remembered for the line "hold on to your butts", which Jackson also said in 2017's Kong: Skull Island.

Simon Masrani

Wealthy Indian industrialist Simon Masrani acquired InGen after the death of John Hammond. Masrani sought to fulfill Hammond's dream with the creation of Jurassic World. Irrfan Kahn brings a highly likable quality to the role.

The park was a massive success until the escape of the deadly Indominus Rex from its pen. Masrani piloted a helicopter in pursuit of the genetically engineered dinosaur. But when it broke into the aviary, Pteranodons flew out and caused the helicopter to crash in a huge explosion.

Eddie Carr

Eddie Carr was the equipment expert who accompanied Ian Malcolm, Sarah Harding, and Nick Van Owen to Isla Sorna in 1997. His companions were in their RV when it was pushed half off the cliff by the pair of Tyrannosaurus and Carr rushed to the scene to help them.

He fastened a rope to a tree stump and threw it to them to hang on to while he used the cable of his vehicle to keep the RV from falling off the cliff. Unfortunately, the T-Rexes returned and ripped him in half. Heroic and selfless, Carr didn't deserve such a gruesome death which is why it hits harder than any other in the series.
