The hit comic series published by Image Comics, Jupiter’s Legacy, is currently on its final six issues that will wrap up the entire series with Jupiter’s Legacy: Requiem. The artist behind the final installment of the Jupiter’s Legacy comic series released pieces of original artwork that will appear in the upcoming issues. Within those drawings, there are clues as to what fans can expect in the coming comics, though at this point it’s anyone’s guess as to what is going to happen next.

Jupiter’s Legacy: Requiem takes place in a bleak future that begins right where the previous series left off. From teenage hackers tampering with the Earth’s weather to sections of the world such as Las Vegas and Tokyo being completely obliterated, the heroes of Jupiter’s Legacy have stretched themselves thin with the grim end seen all too clearly on the horizon. As shown in all-new images that will be featured in upcoming books, the future of Jupiter’s Legacy is seemingly taking a detour into the past.

Jupiter’s Legacy: Requiem artist Tommy Lee Edwards shared a Tweet that contains four original pieces of artwork that will appear in the next and final six issues of the series. The images depict the gathering of ancient warriors, appearing as though a group of barbarians are meeting with an army of knights. This is a bit puzzling for those following the ongoing series, as the current continuity takes place in the not-too-distant future and definitely not in the ancient past. However, the answer to this mystery could lie in one aspect of the entire series of which fans truly know frighteningly little.

The mysterious Island that has existed throughout the entire Jupiter’s Legacy series and related spin-offs or continuations has never been fully explored. The Island was introduced in Jupiter’s Legacy #1 by Mark Miller and Frank Quitely. Since then, fans have learned that the Island was created by a group of aliens who used it as a place to give superpowers to a group of humans and then train them to bring peace and justice to the world. Beyond that, the elements of the Island remain a mystery, one that could be completely cleared up with the release of the series’ final six issues.

While the only information at this point is simply speculative, the sneak peek into the next few issues of Jupiter’s Legacy: Requiem is insightful. Somehow, these warriors of the past will impact the events of the future, whether it be through information learned through flashbacks or through some sort of time-displacement event. Either way, fans are anxiously awaiting the final chapters of the Jupiter’s Legacy saga as Jupiter’s Legacy: Requiem comes to an end.
