Turns out that Kanye West's new flame Julia Fox is a long-time fan of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, her family, and their former show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Ye and the rising star were first spotted in Miami together on January 2. This is the rapper's first relationship since calling things off with model Vinetria.
After news first broke about their date, the Uncut Gems breakout claimed she didn't know about a future with Kanye. But soon enough, the two celebs were officially, and publicly, seeing each other. Julia wrote about her "instant connection" with Kanye in a recent piece for Interview Magazine. In the article, she wrote that Kanye picked her outfit, like he did with Kim. The new relationship happened so fast that the actress' role in the Kim and Kanye saga virtually changed over night. Not too long ago, Julia was just another outside observer of their strained marriage and removed enough to publicly comment on the famous family.
On the December 17 episode of her podcast, Forbidden Fruits, Julia discussed a number of Kardashian-related topics with her co-host, Niki Takesh. At the time, she asked her co-host, “Can we talk about the Kim and Kanye divorce?" She also brought up Kim's new relationship with Pete Davidson, who also history with Julia. The No Sudden Move star also said she missed the family's E! series, adding that she was a "die-hard, OG" fan. She continued, “I have been watching ‘Keeping Up’ since it first came out in 2007 when watching it was embarrassing.” While watching the long-running series, she admitted, “I wanted them to be my family," adding, "You feel like you know them.” Her co-host Niki also gushed about the Kardashians, and the pair spoke about their fandom feeling like a deep connection. Julia remarked, "It’s like you are happy for them when something good happens to them."
The two also spoke about something less-than-good happening to Khloe Kardashian. Elsewhere in the podcast, Julia and Niki spoke about the drama regarding Tristan Thompson's paternity suit. This episode came out before Tristan's apology to Khloe on Instagram. That was the first time the basketball player admitted to fathering a child with Maralee Nichols. Interestingly enough, Julia also had drama with her own baby daddy, estranged husband Peter Armitov. Days before beginning her romance with Kanye, the artist publicly blasted her ex as a deadbeat dad to their son, Valentino.
The podcast episode was released roughly two weeks before Julia and Kanye met. In her article about their budding relationship, the 31-year-old revealed they first connected in Miami on New Year's Eve, two days before being spotted in public. Just before they met, Kanye was seen partying with another model, Yasmine Lopez.
Despite carrying on as a single man, Kanye reportedly expects to reunite with Kim. Even his public displays of affection with Julia may just be an attempt to make his estranged wife jealous. But in the meantime, the SKIMS founder has happily moved on with Pete.
Between Julia's Kardashian fandom, her connection to Pete, and Kanye's inability to let Kim go, the past week surely would've made an intense Keeping Up With The Kardashians episode. But while that show is no more, perhaps fans will get to see some of the drama play out on the family's upcoming Hulu show. And maybe Julia will be watching that series as well.
