The sorcerers of Jujutsu Kaisen all possess amazing strength and utilize powerful techniques in the war against Curses. They must learn to master the mysteries of Cursed energy through intense training and piece together clues to help them hunt down and eliminate dangerous spirits.
A good sorcerer must also be incredibly intelligent as well as fast or strong. Many of the best sorcerers are also among the smartest characters in the series. The most intelligent sorcerers use their quick wits to their advantage, allowing them to defeat their opponents both swiftly and efficiently.
Nobara Kugisaki
Although she only seems to care about her appearance, Nobara Kugisaki is actually quite bright. She acts cocky not because she is powerful, but because she knows she can outwit her opponent. During her fight with the Roppongi Curse, she did not lose her cool when the Curse took the boy hostage, and she effectively exorcised the Curse using her Straw Doll technique before it could escape.
She is always calm under pressure and can quickly analyze a situation to find an appropriate response. She can compartmentalize her feelings and stay focused on the task at hand, and this ability allows her to think clearly when fighting her opponents.
Yuji Itadori
Fans would be forgiven for thinking that Yuji Itadori is not very intelligent. At first, Yuji appears to be rather clueless and acts very much like the typical shonen hero who is all brawn and no brains. However, within his powerful exterior lies an intelligent and creative mind.
He quickly accepts the existence of Curses and has excellent reaction timing and intuition. Yuji has a natural talent for using cursed energy, such as when he learned how to use the Black Flash technique within a few hours of meeting Aoi Todo. His intelligence may not be reliant on book smarts, but he is far from being just a meathead hero.
Megumi Fushiguro
Of the three first-year students at Tokyo Jujutsu High, Megumi Fushiguro is the most traditionally intelligent. He has a calculating and analytical mind and prefers to think through his actions rather than rush in blindly. He can multitask and think on his feet, such as when he combined different shinigami techniques during his fight with Noritoshi Kamo.
Megumi is also learning to be more creative and push himself to his limits, as seen when he set up a Domain on the first try in his fight against the Finger Bearer. If he keeps up his current rate of growth, Megumi will one day become both an intelligent and powerful sorcerer.
Maki Zenin
The black sheep of the Zenin family, Maki Zenin is nonetheless a very accomplished and intelligent sorcerer. Despite not being able to see Curses or use cursed energy, Maki is still able to fight at an extremely high level due to her immense physical strength and martial arts training.
Her ability to use multiple different weapons at a very high level underscores her understanding of different forms and techniques required in combat as well as her ability to memorize and understand complex information. She is a natural leader, and her teammates trust that she will not lead them astray.
Toge Inumaki
Despite never speaking intelligible sentences, Toge Inumaki possesses a tremendous intellect. Toge inherited the powerful Cursed Speech technique, which allows him to infuse words with cursed energy and force the target to obey his commands. The technique requires incredible dedication, skill, and patience to use correctly, all of which Toge is well on his way to mastering.
He uses a series of code words to communicate with his teammates to not affect them with his technique and can stay calm even in high-stress situations. Toge knows the limits of his abilities, and this understanding requires a great deal of smarts and self-reflection.
Kento Nanami
Kento Nanami is not only intelligent but also very wise. He often appears calm and indifferent in stressful situations, but his stoicism is merely a product of his ability to separate his emotions from his work. Nanami is very practical and never does more work than necessary to accomplish a job.
His hatred of working overtime has made him highly efficient, and he can analyze a situation quickly to find the best path to a resolution. His Ratio Technique is reliant upon precision strikes and demonstrates his keen attention to detail. He takes his position as Yuji's mentor very seriously, and in their time together, proves himself to be an intuitive teacher and talented sorcerer.
Yoshinobu Gakuganji
The principal of Kyoto Jujutsu High, Yoshinobu Gakuganji acts like a frail old man, but there is more to him than meets the eye. In reality, Yoshinobu is a shrewd and cunning sorcerer whose devious mind more than overcompensates for his relatively weak body. He is adept at manipulating others to do his bidding, such as when he used both Curses and his own students as tools to try to eliminate Yuji Itadori during the Goodwill Event.
When the situation arises, he can charm and collaborate with his rivals and is skilled at hiding his true intentions. Yoshinobu can quickly analyze and rate his opponents merely by observing them, ensuring that he never puts himself into a situation that he cannot overcome.
Shoko Ieiri
A doctor at Tokyo Jujutsu High, Shoko Ieiri is a former classmate of Satoru Gojo and an accomplished sorcerer. She is one of the few sorcerers who can use the reversed healing cursed technique, making her an invaluable asset and worthwhile comrade.
Although she is depicted as being rather gloomy and jaded, Shoko is still extremely intelligent and capable. Her ability to use the reversed healing cursed technique is a testament to her skill and the amount of time she dedicated to mastering her abilities. Shoko may not be on the front lines fighting Curses, but her value cannot be overstated.
Satoru Gojo
A special grade jujutsu sorcerer and teacher at Tokyo Jujutsu High, Satoru Gojo is not only one of the most powerful sorcerers alive, but he is also extraordinarily intelligent. Although he acts playful and carefree with his students and friends, deep down he is a cold and calculating individual. He has completely mastered the Limitless Technique, which allows him absolute control over space, and his level of control over such a complicated technique is indicative of his intellect.
Gojo has a very tactical mind and is able to quickly predict and adapt to his opponent's strategy. His ability to control everything around him while also minimizing damage to himself and others points to his immense powers of analysis and is one of the reasons why he is considered the strongest sorcerer.
Aoi Todo
While he may not be able to match Satoru Gojo in terms of cursed energy, Aoi Todo is one of if not the smartest characters in the series. Claiming to have an IQ of 530,000, Aoi has an innate understanding of jujutsu and can analyze his opponents' movements in seconds. For example, he teaches Yuji how to control his cursed energy within hours of meeting each other. Then, he is able to immediately synchronize their attacks while fighting Hanami despite the two having never fought together before.
His Boogie Woogie Technique appears simple, but it's very difficult to use in combat, yet he can harness its full potential on both offense and defense. Aoi is not merely smart, he is also philosophical, preferring to be his authentic self rather than scheme for power or pretend that he's something he's not.
