The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie has received a theatrical release date in the United States. The best-selling manga series of the same name, written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, was first serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump and has now sold over 60 million copies in Japan and has also caught on in the U.S. due to its publication by VIZ Media. Jujutsu Kaisen was then adapted into a 24-episode anime series by MAPPA and aired on MBS.

Set before the events of the hit anime series, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will adapt the "Cursed Child arc" and focus on the origins of the supporting character, Yuta Okkotsu (Megumi Ogata). The prequel film will follow Yuta as a nervous high school student who enrolls in the mysterious Tokyo Jujutsu High School under the guidance of Satoru Gojo (Yuichi Nakamura) after being haunted by the curse of his childhood love, Rika Orimoto (Kana Hanazawa). The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie is also animated by MAPPA and directed by Sunghoo Park. Additional voice cast for the film includes Mikako Komatsu as Maki Zen’in, Koki Uchiyama as Toge Inumaki, Tomokazu Seki as Panda, and Takahiro Sakurai as Suguru Geto.

Now, Crunchyroll has officially announced a theatrical release for the highly anticipated anime movie in the United States. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will open in the U.S. and Canada on March 18, with tickets going on sale on February 25. The film will be available in both English dub and subtitled in over 1,500 theaters nationwide. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is not yet rated and will carry a runtime of 105 minutes.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 already premiered in Japanese theaters on December 24 and since then, fans outside the country have been eagerly awaiting an international release date. That wish has now finally come true as the film's release in the U.S. and Canada is just the beginning of its rollout to additional countries and territories. This includes the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Netherlands, and parts of Africa and Latin America.

Anime movies have been steadily growing in popularity, evidenced by the worldwide success of recent releases like Demon Slayer: Mugen Train and Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. Given the sheer amount of theatrical locations Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will premiere in and the popularity of the manga series, it will likely join those ranks as well. If Jujutsu Kaisen 0 does well worldwide, it should continue garnering interest in the anime genre.
