Juggernaut is a massive force, who's pure strength and durability is rarely rivaled in the Marvel Comics universe. Going up against the brute often ends badly for his opponents - regardless of their powers. When Cannonball tried to take him down with an explosive blast, the strongman embarrassed the New Mutant by taking him down without even flinching.

Juggernaut has long been one of the top villains to the X-Men (and occasional ally). Cain Marko isn't a mutant, but thanks to being magically powered up from the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, he became one the strongest characters in all of Marvel Comics. Meanwhile, Sam Guthrie, aka Cannonball, is a mutant most commonly associated with X-Force and the New Mutants who can shoot himself in the air at breakneck speeds - while he's invulnerable when doing so. That invulnerability would come in handy, as Cannonball once tried to blast Juggernaut with all the power that he had and ultimately was stopped dead in his tracks.

In Spider-Man #16 by Todd McFarlane, Greg Wright, Rob Liefeld, and Chris Eliopoulos,  Juggernaut is fighting with the X-Force team in a battle that's left plenty of destruction in its wake. The superteams attempt to take down the magically powered villain don't go well, as Juggernaut seems amused to be fighting them instead of being threatened. Cannonball tries his best to take down Marko in his own unique style, and sends himself at Juggernaut will a full-powered cannon blast. However, Juggernaut isn't the least bit threatened, as he puts his hands behind his back and doesn't even flinch when he's hit.

Juggernaut

Thankfully, Cannonball is invulnerable during his attacks. Otherwise, he would have splattered upon immediate impact with Juggernaut. He quickly learned that hurling himself at full blast at 137 miles per hour was a very bad idea. Funny enough, upon impact Cannonball gets sent flying and is saved from crashing through multiple buildings as Spider-Man picks him out of mid-air. Cannonball, dazed and confused, asks Spidey "izzat you-- mom?!" Clearly, he's feeling the effects of lunging himself at the brute.

The comic showed that Juggernaut can withstand even the most punishing blasts with ease. Cannonball is a powerful mutant who can cause some serious damage with his powerful abilities. However, in this case, Juggernaut made him look like a complete rookie - and he didn't even have a lift a finger to do so. He simply took the blast and sent Cannonball flying. The fight has got to be one of Juggernaut's easiest victories to date.
