The new trailer for A Journal For Jordan gives a first look at star Michael B. Jordan in his role as a real-life soldier and father, the late 1st Sgt. Charles Monroe King. A Journal For Jordan tells the true story of King, who wrote letters to his infant son Jordan, offering advice and life lessons, before he was killed while serving in Iraq. The film is based on A Journal for Jordan: A Story of Love and Honor, the 2008 memoir by Dana Canedy, King’s fiancée and Jordan’s mother. Canedy is a journalist and publishing executive, and she was the first woman and the first person of color to serve as administrator of the Pulitzer Prizes, a position she held from 2017 to 2020.

Now, USA Today Entertainment has shared the trailer for the film based on King and Canedy’s story. The trailer sets up A Journal For Jordan as an epic and emotional love story, with Michael B. Jordan getting a chance to show his romantic side. Cutting back and forth between intimate and happy family moments, and jarring scenes of war, the trailer captures the dichotomy between King’s two worlds. Check out the trailer below:
