Josh Gad started working in the entertainment industry in the early 2000s but got his big break when he starred on Broadway as Elder Cunningham in the smash-hit musical, The Book of Mormon. Josh Gad stars in this comedy about a man named Doug, who is about to get married but doesn't have a best man. Lucky for Doug, another man named Jimmy, played by Kevin Hart, offers a service where he will be someone's best man on their wedding day.
This buddy comedy didn't appeal to critics but had a lot of success at the box office when it premiered. In addition to Hart and Gad, the film also star Kaley Cuoco as the woman Doug is about to marry.
The Internship (34%)
This comedy film, starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, is about two salesmen who, after being laid off from their sales job, decide to take on internships at Google.
Wilson and Vaughn's characters find themselves in a much different work environment than what they're used to with much younger co-workers. One of those co-workers, nicknamed "Headphones" is played by Josh Gad. Headphones helps Nick in the tech department at Google.
Ice Age: Continental Drift (37%)
This animated feature is the fourth in the Ice Age franchise. In this film, Manny and Ellie are struggling with raising their teenage daughter, Peaches. Josh Gad voices the character of Louis.
Louis is a molehog and Peaches' best friend. While Peaches and her family struggle, Sid and his friends find themselves stranded on an iceberg and headed for danger when they meet a group of pirates on their treacherous journey.
The Angry Birds Movie (43%)
This is another animated children's feature starring the voice of Josh Gad as Chuck, a bird in anger management. The Angry Birds Movie is based on the wildly successful video game, Angry Birds.
When this film premiered in 2016, it was the fourth highest-grossing film, based on a video game, in box office history. The film and its sequel have been praised for the animation and the acting, but critics do think the story and humor fall short compared to other animated successes.
Love And Other Drugs (48%)
This love story stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway as two people who fall in love and fight to preserve what they have.
In the film, Hathaway plays Maggie Murdock, a woman who has been diagnosed with Parkinson's. Gyllenhaal plays Jamie Randall, a pharmaceutical sales rep, new to the game. Jamie gets his new job in pharmaceutical sales with the help of his rich brother, Josh Randall, played by Josh Gad.
A Dog's Journey (50%)
The 2019 film, A Dog's Journey, is based on the 2012 novel by the same name and is the sequel to the 2017 film, A Dog's Purpose. In this film, Josh Gad's voiceover work shines once again as he voices the dog Bailey and all of the other dogs Bailey is reincarnated as.
This heartfelt film also starring Dennis Quaid and Marg Helgenberger, will make you laugh and cry, and appreciate our pet friends even more.
Murder On The Orient Express (61%)
2017's Murder on the Orient Express, is based on the novel with the same name by famed writer, Agatha Christie. This is the fourth on-screen adaptation of Christie's literary classic.
This version stars Kenneth Branagh, who also directed the film, Penelope Cruz, William Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Leslie Odom Jr, and Josh Gad. In this classic who-done-it, murder mystery, Gad plays Hector MacQueen, Edward Ratchett's, (played by Johnny Depp), secretary.
Beauty And The Beast (71%)
2017's live action remake of the Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast, boasts a star-studded cast.
Emma Watson plays Belle, Dan Stevens plays the Beast, Luke Evans plays Gaston, and Josh Gad plays Gaston's loyal sidekick LeFou. Gad's performance in this film was hailed by critics and fans alike and most would agree that his number, "Gaston", was one of the film's best and brightest moments.
Marshall (80%)
Marshall is a biographical drama about Thurgood Marshall, the first Black Supreme Court Justice. Thurgood Marshall, played by Chadwick Boseman, was an NAACP lawyer who traveled around the country to defend Black men wrongly accused of crimes due to racial prejudices.
Marshall gets a case in Connecticut, defending a driver who has been accused of raping a woman. In this important film, Josh Gad plays Sam Friedman a fellow lawyer who teams up with Marshall in this case.
Frozen (90%)
Josh Gad plays everyone's favorite snowman, Olaf, in the Disney hit animated feature film, Frozen. In this movie, Olaf is a lovable sidekick who lacks self-awareness but makes up for it with his dependability and a great sense of humor.
Gad gets to show off his musical skills once again in this classic film with the song, "In Summer", where Olaf sings about wanting to be on a beach and live in the sunshine, unaware that that would cause him to melt.
