Thor: The Dark World actor Chris O’Dowd has been added to the cast of the Jordan Peele fronted CBS All Access revival of The Twilight Zone. The Irish actor, who's currently starring in the Epix show Get Shorty, is the latest in a long line of talent to join the cast of the forthcoming series that started filming in October of last year.

This isn’t the first time the legendary sci-fi anthology show has been rebooted. The original series of The Twilight Zone first aired between 1959 and 1964, before being revived in the 1980s. It returned to the small screen once again in the early 2000s, meaning CBS’s version will be the fourth television iteration of the show. While yet another revival might seem pointless to some, The Twilight Zone has become seen as a classic over the years, so this latest return has generated plenty of excitement.

Now fans have one more reason to be hyped, with Deadline's report that O’Dowd has nabbed a role in the show. Details of O’Dowd’s character have yet to be released, but it’s known that he’ll star in an episode titled “The Blue Scorpion” alongside Transparent actress Amy Landecker.

As previously mentioned, a ton of talent is already attached to the project. Oscar-winning Get Out director Jordan Peele, whose forthcoming horror Us was inspired by a classic Twilight Zone episode, will be producing, hosting and narrating the show, while confirmed cast members include Seth Rogen, The Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun and actress Taissa Farmiga of The Nun fame. It was also recently confirmed that Deadpool 2 actress Zazie Beetz and Betty Gabriel, who played Georgina in Get Out, have joined the cast too. While firm details about the content of the new Twilight Zone episodes are currently quite scarce, we do know that one will be a remake of the classic 1963 episode “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet” starring Adam Scott, and another episode titled “Rewind” will be helmed by The First Purge director Gerard McMurray.

O’Dowd’s casting is certainly an exciting development in the production of the reboot. He’s been getting rave reviews for his role as mob enforcer Miles Daly in Get Shorty, so there’s no doubt he’ll bring a lot to the table when filming of “The Blue Scorpion” begins. Let’s just hope that his role in The Twilight Zone proves more memorable than his role as the guy that got dumped by Jane Foster for Thor in Thor: The Dark World, a part that O’Dowd later managed to forget all about.
