The Mandalorian's third episode features creator Jon Favreau in a subtle cameo. Directed by Deborah Chow, the episode titled "The Sin" tackles Dyn Jarren's (Pedro Pascal) delivery of the Force sensitive baby Yoda to the Client (Werner Herzog) and Dr. Pershing (Omid Abtahi), only for him to change his mind and smuggle the infant back. However, the show's latest outing also introduced fans to other Mandalorians in the series, including one voiced by Favreau.
After Dyn collected his payment - a camtono of Beskar - for delivering the Asset in the latest The Mandalorian episode, he made his way back to The Armorer so she can create him new pieces of armor. During his visit to the underground hideout of his people, Dyn was confronted by a group of other Mandalorians, including Paz Vizla, who specifically condemned him for transacting with the Empire. Their mini scuffle was fortunately apprehended. Toward the end of the episode, Paz, alongside other Mandalorians, came to Dyn's rescue as he tried to elude other bounty hunters after he retrieved baby Yoda.
As it turns out, Paz was voiced by Favreau as confirmed by Vanity Fair. Meanwhile, it was Tait Fletcher, the real-life MMA fighter, John Wick villain and the guy who played one of the cantina tough guys from The Mandalorian's first episode, who played the character physically.
Favreau is not new to voicing Star Wars characters; he was involved in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, bringing to life Pre Vizsla of Clan Vizlsa. He served as the governor of Concordia and was a trusted ally of Empress Satine Kryza. However, he was also involved in the group called Death Watch as their leader. The crew was consisted of Mandalorian commandos operating underground who're secretly working on reclaiming the control of their own planet. Despite similar sounding names, it's worth noting the difference in spelling between The Mandalorian's Paz Vizla (how it's also spelled in the credits) and The Clone Wars' Pre Vizsla, meaning they might not be related to each other.
It's unclear if Paz will make another appearance in The Mandalorians - at least in its first season, which only has five episodes left. The latest episode ended with Dyn on the run after he kidnapped baby Yoda from The Client, and considering how seemingly important it was to them, it's safe to say that there will be a lot of people coming after him, in the hopes of snatching the infant and scoring some bounty themselves. That being said, with a second year already in production, there will be a plenty of time to incorporate them back into the show's narrative.
