All the live-action Joker characters have united for one image in an awesome fan-made poster. The Clown Prince of Gotham City is Batman’s most legendary and greatest foe, and the famous DC villain is now 80 years old, after being introduced to the world in Batman Issue 1 back in the spring of 1940. Over the last 80 years, the character has been seen in numerous ways through films, TV shows, comics, and a host of video games. Star Wars’ Mark Hamill even became a popular voice actor for the Joker, voicing the villainous character for Batman: The Animated Series, and also video games such as the Batman: Arkham franchise. However, for a lot of fans, the most memorable visuals of the character may be the live-action portrayals.

There have been six real live-action portrayals of the Joker since the character's inception. Cesar Romero played the character in the 1960s Batman TV show starring Adam West, and then Jack Nicholson played the Joker in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman. Heath Ledger then captivated audiences with his take on Joker in The Dark Knight, and Jared Leto’s forgettable run as the Clown Prince started and seemingly finished with Suicide Squad. Most recently, the Gotham TV show brought the character to life with Cameron Monaghan playing the character, without officially being called the Joker. And, of course, the first live-action film titled Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix, left everyone mesmerized as a gritty, realistic, and original origin story about the character unfolded. The film was greeted with countless awards and box office records. Despite the gap between most of the live-action incarnations of the DC antagonist, they can now be seen together in one incredible piece of art.

On Twitter, a user named esophagus juice shared an incredible fan-made poster that puts all the live-action Jokers side by side. From right to left, we see Romero, Nicholson, Ledger, Leto, Phoenix, and Monaghan all painted as their Joker characters from their respective shows and films. Their Jokers are also given their appropriate nicknames, with Romero being “The Clown,” Nicholson “The Gangster,” Ledger “The Anarchist,” Leto “The Psychopath,” Phoenix “The Comedian,” and Monaghan “The Maniac.” You can see the tweet with the fan-made poster below:

The fan-made poster is nothing revolutionary, as many artists have enjoyed bringing the various live-action Jokers to life through impressive artwork. However, what stands out about this particular poster, besides the fact one can see each Joker side by side, is that there are nicknames for each version of the character, and fans can see the evolution Joker has experienced on screen. From Romero’s rather silly Joker to Phoenix’s realistic and dark portrayal, it’s been a fascinating evolution.

It’s possible that seeing these different versions of the Clown Prince so close together will potentially trigger debates online between fans on which actor’s Joker was the best. However, fans may also wonder where this versatile and unique villain will go next. It’s possible after the success of Todd Phillips’ Joker, the next step in the on-screen evolution will once again be through Phoenix’s take. Warner Bros. will certainly be keen for the Joker pair to reunite after their last outing.
