CNN's Anderson Cooper drank a lot of tequila on New Year's Eve and Snoop Dogg made him laugh so hard he sounded like the Joker. Cooper reunited with Andy Cohen, king of Bravo, for their annual New Year's Eve hosting gig on CNN. A recent tradition after Cooper parted ways with past co-host Kathy Griffin, the two can be seen hosting festivities in Time's Square.

The pair interview celebrity guests and partake in adult beverages, much like the rest of the country. This year's celebration looked a little different, though. For one, Time's Square was startlingly empty because of the coronavirus. Their celebrity guests, who frequently appear in person (though not always), appeared primarily virtually. One of those guests was Snoop Dogg and he might be Cooper's favorite guest of all.

In a series of videos posted to Twitter, Cooper and Cohen can be seen interviewing Snoop for their special. Naturally, they asked him about getting high and the strangest places he's ever done it. Some of the questions Cohen asked were if Snoop had smoked at the DMV, at any awards shows, and late night talk shows. Cooper, who was a few shots in at this point, could not help but laugh uncontrollably and his laugh soon devolved into a Joker-esque cackle. Check it out below:

Despite the fact that 2020 was a disastrous year, Snoop, Cohen, and Anderson seemed to embody the fun everyone wanted to have on New Year's Eve. While for many that wasn't possible, Snoop and the two hosts lit up CNN with their fun game. Cooper's cackle was the icing on top of the cake for the sequence. His laugh sounds like a mix of a few different actor's performances as Joker, many of whom have been given a chance to perfect their Joker cackle.

Most notably is Heath Ledger's, who played Joker in Christopher Nolan's The Dark KnightHis sinister turn earned him a posthumous Supporting Actor Oscar at the 2009 Academy Awards. More recently, though, is Joaquin Phoenix's own take on Arthur Fleck. Phoenix worked diligently to perfect the laugh, refusing to accept the role in 2019's Joker before her aced it. After Anderson Cooper's New Year's laugh, though, maybe studios should give the news anchor the chance to play the notoriously humorous villain. Cooper has not yet tried out acting extensively, but maybe a few more tequila shots could convince him to do so.
