The Joker is getting very serious about exposing the Bat-Family's biggest secret - their identities outside of their costumes. In previews for the upcoming Batman #89, it's revealed the Joker knows the not-so-secret identities of the biggest players in Batman's inner circle.

DC Comics previewed the Joker's new girlfriend Punchline this week, announcing the character would make her first appearance in a one-panel cameo in Batman #89Interestingly, in the preview, the Joker can be seen standing in front of a corkboard with the Bat-Family pinned up. In the image, it's clear the Joker has figured out the real-life identities of Batman's allies.

The panel reveals the Joker knows the secret identities of Nightwing (Richard Grayson), Drake (Timothy Drake), Robin (Damian Wayne), and the Red Hood (Jason Todd). It also appears that Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) is also pinned on the board near the bottom, but the image is cut off near the top of her head. The big question about the panel is how does the Joker know their real-life identities?

The Joker Reveal

The current DC Comics canon is a bit all over the place, but there are some logical conclusions to be made about how he gathered this intel. The Joker knowing Red Hood's identity is pretty obvious considering he used his mother to lure him into getting killed. As for Nightwing, the Joker is playing a sizable part in his upcoming storyline. As for Damian Wayne and Timothy Drake, it's unclear. But, clearly, the Joker has been gathering intel in advance of the Joker War to mess with the Batman.

The question remains: Does the Joker know that Batman is Bruce Wayne? He seemed pretty excited when Superman revealed his identity to the world as it seemed to serve as inspiration for him to find out the truth about the Caped Crusader. The Joker seems to know more than he's letting on but knows when he ultimately figures out the true identity of Batman, his games will come to an end. So, instead of putting energy into that, he wants to make Batman's life as miserable as possible - that starts with targeting those closest to him.

The Joker is unpredictable. How he uses the knowledge of the Bat-Family's real-life identities is unknown at the moment. But, with the Joker War coming, you can bet he's going to cause some major problems for Batman and his family.
