New Joker 2 fan art by BossLogic imagines what Lady Gaga could like as Harley Quinn in the musical sequel tentatively titled Joker: Folie à Deux. Shortly after the Todd Phillips-directed Joker movie starring Joaquin Phoenix became the first R-rated film to gross over $1 billion at the box office, Warner Bros. and DC Films began seriously discussing the development of a sequel. After years of rumors and uncertainty regarding Phillips and Phoenix's returns, a Joker sequel started coming together in May 2021 with big updates coming this month.

The first major Joker 2 update came when Phillips shared a photo of the script cover on social media, which revealed the film's working title to be Joker: Folie à Deux, which roughly translates to "madness of two." This was the first solid confirmation that a Joker sequel was in development with Phillips returning as director with a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver. A week later, reports indicated that Lady Gaga was in early talks to star as Harley Quinn in Joker 2 opposite Phoenix. This casting report also came with the news that the sequel is meant to be a movie musical.

Now, a day after the bombshell Joker 2 news, fan art by BossLogic imagines what Lady Gaga could like as Harley Quinn if the two sides can close a deal. Citing inspiration from Jinx (presumably referring to the League of Legends champion), the artwork imagines Joker's longtime love interest wearing a white tank top with the character's signature mallet resting on her shoulder. This actually isn't the first Joker 2 fan art from BossLogic. Soon after the Folie à Deux title reveal, the famous digital artist shared a piece envisioning Phoenix's Joker next to a shadowy, more sinister version of himself clutching a knife. Now that more exciting Joker 2 news is here, BossLogic is back with another impressive piece. While this art imagines a more toned-down version of Harley Quinn compared to the original from Batman: The Animated Series or Margot Robbie's in the DC Extended Universe, it's probably still too showy for the grounded realism of Phillips' Joker universe, which BossLogic acknowledges in a reply on Twitter.

Though this may be far from what Gaga's Dr. Harleen Quinzel actually ends up looking like, it's still a good baseline that imagines a slightly more toned-down version of the character who is typically anything but. It also showcases just how much Gaga looks like Harley Quinn, who seems tailor-made for the role, not only because of her physical appearance but also of her musical talent, which seems to be the driving force behind casting her in the musical sequel. Maybe the overwhelmingly supportive fan response online could coax Gaga into signing a deal for Joker 2.
