Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is one of Shonen Jump's biggest manga successes, but it took a while to catch on outside of Japan. But now, Hirohiko Araki's generational manga epic has become an anime staple the world over. Memes and praise for the series are everywhere on social media. Fans are eagerly waiting for the continuation of Part 6's anime adaptation on Netflix.

One of the biggest reasons for Jojo's popularity is its unique take on a power system. Stands, as they are called, manifest from a user's fighting spirit and have some truly bizarre powers. Some of them can just shoot fire, and some can manipulate causality with some truly broken powers. This list will only be touching on powers seen up to the anime's current episode.

The Hand

Okuyasu summons his stand The Hand in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

Okuyasu Nijimura is one of the heroes from Part 4, Diamond is Unbreakable. Okuyasu was the first of the part's many enemies-to-friends and the younger and dumber of two brothers. His stupidity was a common plot point in the series. It prevented him from using his ability, The Hand, to its fullest.

The Hand's ability was that anything touched by its right hand was wiped away. The space around the right hand would then collapse together, reforming matter as if there was no gap. This was a powerful combat ability, but it also gave Okuyasu other abilities like flight. But if he ever realized its potential, he could use it for healing, projectiles, movement, and even teleportation.

Moody Blues

Moody Blues is summoned by Leone Abacchio in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5, Golden Wind, was home to some powerful stand abilities. Fighting against strong enemies like the Hitman Squad in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure requires some versatile powers of your own. Leone Abbacchio's stand Moody Blues was one of the most interesting. The former cop's stand could replay past events exactly as they occurred.

This essentially creates a window into the past. The stand transforms into the person whose past the user wants to see, and can replay any of those actions. This would be an extremely useful power in real life, as you would be able to learn anything in your vicinity. Unfortunately, the big bad agreed and tried to eliminate this stand first.

Burning Down The House

When it comes to powerful abilities, it's best not to only think in terms of what's been shown. Part 6 is still being animated, but one of the protagonist's stands is more powerful than people give it credit for. Emporio Alnino's stand often gets overlooked because it lacks a physical form. But Burning Down The House has crazy utility.

The Stand's ability is to be able to materialize the ghost of objects. That means he can materialize whatever he wants as long as it no longer exists. He can't use the objects in the traditional sense, but he can pull props to hide with or objects to use. He can't eat the food he materializes, but he can taste it.

Strength

The gigantic boat Strength pulls up in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

Strength is one of the more overlooked Stands in Part 3, Stardust Crusaders. It's a bizarre one-off encounter from the earlier episodes of the part, before the more exciting Assassin-filled Egypt arc of Jojo Part 3. Owned by an orangutan named Forever, the stand is a large boat. It's one of the few stands that regular people can see.

Except those last two points aren't exactly true. After the user is defeated, the giant boat transforms into a small dinghy. That's because the true ability of Strength is to turn things into the best version of themselves. A Stand that upgrades any object into its most powerful version would be extremely handy to have in reality.

Gold Experience

The protagonist Giorno's ability is perhaps one of the most variables in the series. Giorno's Gold Experience can give life to things it touches. Usually, that means transforming inanimate objects into plants or animals. He also occasionally uses it to stimulate growth in plants or mess with people's perceptions. The stand is often cited as one of Jojo Bizarre Adventure's most confusing.

The Stand is already one of the most versatile. It has the entire animal kingdom to utilize, and Giorno also learns how to use it to heal. But it gets the most potential at the end of the Part when it becomes Gold Experience Requiem. This gives it the added ability to negate actions, essentially stopping anyone from attacking Giorno immediately.

Weather Report

Weather Report in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Eyes of Heaven for PS4.

Weather Report is owned by an amnesiac character from Part 6. It's perhaps good that he's an amnesiac, or he would remember the full spectrum of his stand's abilities. Weather Report can control the weather, but it can be as big or as micro in scale as he can imagine. He uses it to catch objects in clouds and play the piano with raindrops in his first appearance.

Other abilities include the full spectrum of things expected from Storm of the X-Men. But in the final episode of the first batch of Netflix uploads, Weather Report unleashes something incredible. It seems his abilities extend to the full catalog of every reported weather phenomenon. He summons a torrential downpour of poisonous frogs, which catches everyone off guard.

King Crimson

King Crimson the stand in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

King Crimson is the Stand belonging to the mysterious antagonist of Part 5, Golden Wind. It's also often cited as one of the most confusing, but it is also the most powerful. This ability allows the user to skip forward in time. This allows them to avoid things that might be bad for them.

The ability affects the entire planet at once, and the user can't be harmed by anything that happens in the skipped time. But it also comes with additional power. Epitaph is the secondary required ability to perceive the future so that you know when to skip. This ability makes the villain invincible and almost always spelled doom for the heroes.

Crazy Diamond

Josuke's stand, Crazy Diamond, stares down the audience.

Crazy Diamond is the Stand of the protagonist of Part 4. It's quite similar to the Stand of the protagonist of the previous Part, Jotaro Kujo. But much like how Josuke is a much lighter protagonist than Jotaro, Crazy Diamond has a key difference. Its ability to heal things showcases Josuke's lighter nature and allows for new dynamic fight scenes.

This healing ability is often used in typical ways like healing allies. Josuke can't use it on himself though, so he often has to think about how to use it strategically. This is because objects that he uses will also retrace their steps and move to where they've been in the past. He can even use it on enemies to repair them incorrectly, which can be quite horrifying,

The World/Star Platinum

DIO and Jotaro's stands clash in an epic shot from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

The climax of Part 3 is considered one of Jojo Bizarre Adventure's highlights, elevating the Part to classic status. Audiences get to see the powerful villain DIO face-off with the stoic hero Jotaro in a battle for the ages. The fight reveals that the two powerful Stands of the rivals, The World and Star Platinum, are rather similar. They both have similar strengths and the same ability.

This is the power to stop time, which most people have fantasized about. Everyone desired peace of mind in life, and need more time for that. Stopping time allows everyone, and our two combatants, endless opportunities. Both of them make excellent use of their time-stopping Stands, which are powerful fighters even without the time manipulation.

Heaven's Door

Rohan's ability turns this child's face into a book in Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe.

Rohan Kishibe is such a popular character that he received his spinoff. It's a good thing his Stand lends itself to all sorts of potential uses and scenarios. Heaven's Door is summoned whenever anyone witnesses his artwork. Given that the character is a famous manga illustrator, pretty much everyone has seen his artwork.

The ability turns people into immobile books that Rohan can read to learn everything about them. But that's not all, as Rohan can even write things into the book people which become true about them. He can give them commands or even plant or remove information and traits from them. This gives him total control of anyone, allowing him the ability to grant his every whim.
